Just try it and see, it will take five seconds. Instead of arguing with everyone over what the pattern is just try the easy suggestions that the others have provided and if that doesn't work take it to a Specialized Dealer and they should be able to diagnose it.
You could change the TCU battery to rule that out as that is a cheap easy fix, but I would take it to a Specialized dealer to confirm. It would remove all the speculation on what the code is.
Yes, it does suck that we are not likely going to be able to source parts for our bikes in 10 or more years' time but even with a normal bike you are lucky to get say a rear triangle, or a replacement frame 10 years down the track.
The only thing we can hope for is that the aftermarket industry...
I think the SL 1 is still a great bike, it is a noisy motor compared to most and it has less power than the others. If you are planning to keep it for a long time, I don't think it will give you much trouble and the motor can be serviced. Resale value wouldn't be that great though, as there are...
If you are just looking to see where people are riding and what is popular you can use Strava heatmaps and if you have Premium there's now Strava routes. I don't have Premium so I have no idea what it is like, but I have used heatmaps to find trails. Still won't give you anywhere near the...
I don't regularly do a full burn, and apart from not being great for battery life if you do it all the time it's mainly a time constraint thing.
Accidently ran my Levo SL down to motor cutoff the other day (3%) when I had forgotten to charge it the night before after a full turbo commute to work...
I'm only 50 so there's a few that I ride with occasionally that are older than me but the majority of the time most are at least 10 years younger if not 20 or more. It certainly keeps you fit trying to keep up with the young guys, but I can still hold my own on the meat powered bike for now.
Not sure where I heard about the fault code when opening the motors but that's interesting to know.
Do any of the brands supply spare parts to you or have you had to source them all yourselves?
Honestly, all motor manufacturers should have their motors as fully serviceable units with not only...
That is similar to my comeback to some of the purists when they start a rant that Ebikes are cheating.
The very point of a bicycle is to give a mechanical advantage to go further and faster than you can on foot. Yes, a non-Ebike is purely leg powered but there's a mechanical aid there and an...
Thought I'd thread dig this one as I ride both an Ebike and a non-Ebike and on the Australian Rotorburn MTB forum the anti-Ebike thing has gotten pretty quiet over the last few years and quite a few members now have Ebikes themselves. That was until one posts up a rant with a whole heap of...
The Orbea is relatively light for an Ebike but there are a few lighter options now. Would it be worth doing some skills coaching to help with the technical stuff? It would be a shame not to ride at all because of the bike you have.
I regularly ride both my non-Eeeb Stumpjumper and my Levo SL. It often depends on who I'm riding with to which bike I take but mostly if it's all Ebikes I take the SL if it's full flintstone, it's the Stumpy. Most of the time that's how the groups are solely mixed, but on occasion, there is a...
The eBike Motor Centre don't support Shimano motors as Shimano won't share the error code information, and apparently when you crack open the motor it can induce an error code and effectively brick the motor. You can buy some of them bearings off them but it's your risk to do the work yourself.
The new SRAM motor is the old Specialized Levo motor, the Brose Drive S Mag. ;)
I think the belt drive issue is fairly sorted now so it's still a good motor and easily serviceable.
If you are going to keep your bike for a several years, the Shimano and newer Bosch motors aren't great when it...
Do you mean this one? The sprag bearing is behind it. If so, it can be tight, but you can get it out.
I replaced the sprag bearing in my motor. The Ebike Motor Center can also do it. That's if it is not in warranty anymore.
