I struggled for years with an analogue bike k2 proflex4000 that I picked up as a complete bargain. Great bike but just the wrong frame size, having straddled a medium even that on 29’s is a bit on the large size so I want to make sure I get this purchase right.
Thanks all, I am going to look into it. I think the max I can claim though is £1000 and I’d be looking at a full fat Levo. Not quite sure how that works.
I think I’m going to find a good local shop. Despite Levo motors turning to dust I’m still considering one of those so any purchase of a specialized will demand a local supplier to sort out warranty issues quickly. Thanks anyway, I will however have a look.
I was trying to remain positive, I think though if I had a Levo failed or not I would probably be less charitable. Were it not for the fact they simply aren’t available just now I’d probably have purchased already but coming on here to do my Pre-purchase research has probably made me look to...
Gotta feel a degree of sympathy here for Specialized. Brose have dropped a bollock on this one. hopefully not only are lessons learned in motor development here but also testing and approval of motors to go to full production. Must be costing them a few bucks this and reputational damage.
^^ my scheme is limited to £1000. I’ll give the wheelies number a call later and discuss though just to double check that I’m not missing out on any potential savings.
Found myself inside Tiso in Glasgow where they had a couple of SL's on display. I managed to try the medium for size but think its too snug, I am only 5'7' but with the 29" wheels I reckon I am going to size better in Small frame.
I had a chat with the sales guy, he didn't seem overly...
Unless of course Blebo19's motor has likewise turned to butter, in which case motors built in March this year might also be suspect. Hoping in his case that the motor is not the root of the issue though. That wouldn't be good news for all.
How is the date of manufacture determined from the above? it’s the numbers after 100xxyyzz?
Where xx = year, yy= day, zz=month ?
if so then this motor was built on the 10th day of March 2020.....and it’s gone rogue with apparently the same symptoms as the earlier pre-modified motors.
This is...
Yes I know mugdock very well. Live close by and walk the dogs there a couple of times a week. Beyond on the west highland way or to strathblane. One thing we are not short of in Scotland is trails plus of course we have no laws of trespass either.
We know that the belts previously were turning to jello, this may or may not have been a heat related issue. We have also seen internet chatter about belt tensioners cracking, not sure if the two are related or independent faults.
It seems the belt has been beefed up with Kevlar so that’s got...
