since trek runs with the dimensions 230x62.5 and the dhx2 coil is only sold in the dimension 230x60, you have to remove a spacer so you get a 62.5 stroke.
then you also have to change the hardware on the coil from trunnion to metric. if you live in england it is possible to buy dhx2 from...
i would ad the DT SWISS H1700 Spline 30 rims to the list, they are fairly cheap and quite durable and can take a lot of hits so they should hold up really well for heavier riders.
I'd say it doesn't matter if you use e-mtb specific rims no matter what you ride.
e-mtb rims are standard reinforced rims such as enduro/downhill rims.
When I was at a shimano center, the technician there recommended chains from bmc for e-bikes as they should be a little thicker and last the longest miles.
I have not tried chains from bmc myself, but I have used Shimano CN-E8000 chains and have been very satisfied.

Until a spring breaks and then it becomes very difficult. Can't you just tighten the steering bearing a little extra tight or pack very tough grease in the balls to get a tougher steering?
I don't think the springs can withstand that much stress when the crash comes and how much will break in...
