Between bicycles and motorcycles this reminds me exactly why I moved from a similar climate to Southern California the first year I was a legal adult, about 40 years ago. I'll be heading out for a ride later today when it warms up from the current chilly 55 F. Brrr....

Just a local trail earlier this week:

It’s only 51 degrees right now, so I’m waiting to ride until it’s 65 or better later. If you ever see me riding in that white crap you know aliens have replaced me. No way.

I don’t recommend this to anyone.

No studded tires but the snow needs to be fairly dry or find some skidoo tracks to follow. Snowshoe’rs can be an obstacle.
Some tires have a rubber compound that works in the snow, some just fail miserably. People think it's about the tread, and that does help, but the rubber is the unsung hero.

Hit a patch of ice last week. I saw it coming but it was almost impossible to keep the bike and myself upright. Was kinda funny. 38FC38D9-E3C7-4BC7-A818-A5C5127C78F8.jpeg
This is a photo from last year but this was the icy spot. One foot forward and three backwards. Needed studs here…or sharper fingernails. 😉
