I use these as well. Not the warmest but certainly the driest. Coupled with a neoprene overshoe my feet stay very warm though, even if it looks weird. I know a lot of vain people hate overshoes! I also wear Gore C5 Active Trail gore-tex trousers which keep any amount of water out.
To all those who own a Focus Jam2 if you want a neoprene cover that fits the downtube then Google the R&G Shock Tube 'SHOCK28BK'. I use R&G products on my motorcycles and the Shock Tubes are made to protect rear suspension units. The SHOCK28BK is the largest they do and fits the Jam2 perfectly...

Product name: Mudhugger FRX and rear 29er mudguard
Price paid: 45
Score (out of 10): 9
Review: After a recent snowy wet freezing ride and getting utterly soaked I invested a bit of cash in some Mudhugger mtb specific mudguards. Some riders say that mudguards are ugly and...
I don't see the issue with this really because the clamps are only there to 'hold' the frame. It doesn't need to be super tight. As long as it secures the frame in place so the bike doesn't move. It's just the same as our tendency to over tighten bolts. It's not necessary and doesn't actually do...
Yes. An inner tube from a 700x42 tyre. Rather than disengage the dropper take the saddle off put some talc on the inside of the inner tube piece and slide it down. Takes a bit if pulling but you need it tight of course.
When it drops below 2c in my opinion. Although the Focus manual recommends storage of the battery and therefore the bike at 18c plus. I’m lucky enough to have a garage I guess because bikes in the house is a big NO for the missus!
Anyone who hates dogs is a dick in my opinion. It’s not the dogs fault if their owners are dicks. Dogs don’t know the difference between a cycle only path and any other type of path.
I’m a walker, dog walker, a cyclist, and an off road motorcyclist and I don’t have an issue with anyone who...
If you have a detachable battery that you can take indoors during the winter to keep warm and charge, then lucky you. For the rest of us with internal batteries that are not allowed to keep our bikes in the house I’ve just done this hack. We all know lithium ion batteries do not perform well...
I’ve noticed that when my Shimano e8000 display reads 25kmh and the assistance stops my GPS unit actually reads 20kmh. GPS is more accurate.
Anyone else notice this discrepancy? And can it be fixed? I guess that being able to change the wheel circumference in the e8000 system would work I’m...
My Focus Jam2 bars are too flat and narrow. Can anyone recommend a quality aluminium Di2 compatible riser bar at 780mm to 800mm? 20mm rise would be good.
I’ve transferred a lot of my motocross cleaning experience over to bicycles. I use...
- Jet wash with variable power lance on lowest setting. This is gentle enough to bash muck off while still protecting vulnerable areas.
- Rhino Goo MTB cleaner.
- Peaty’s foaming drivetrain cleaner.

Reading about the battery in my Focus manual but I assume it’s the same for all manufacturers. So let me get this right...
- They don’t like being stored cold.
- They don’t perform that well when used in cold conditions.
- They don’t like being stored at full charge.
- They need to be fully...
You need to first check if the stickers have been lacquered over by the factory. If not and they are on the surface use a hairdryer to heat the backing glue and they will peel off. Any residue left over can be easily removed with lighter fluid.
