Anyone else’s shimano EP8 motor clunk when cranks are moved?

Get used to it :) E8000 was way more noisy motor on uphills than EP8. EP8 / Bosch clunk is a bit irritating but you forget it when speed increases enough...

    Chain lube

Long lasting and dirt resitant lubes do accumulate grime at low rate. Study of that is definitely coming in future. Chain cleaning can be done badly too. In worse case cenario you just introduce dirt into pins with solvent, frequently. Personally id like to do thorough and effective cleaaning...

    Chain lube

Squirt lube was my all time favorite until Rex Racing came up with their Domestique and Black Diamond chain waxes. Now there is E-bike specific version of Black Diamond that is anti wear boosted. Black Diamond E-bike Chain Lube :: Rex Ski Wax...

How do you lube chain on ebike?

The Rex e-bike version is brand new product so it might be rare to get outside of Finland yet. Rex reprentative said that they will improve marketing and availabilty of biking products constantly. It's still very small part of the business as they are ski wax and accessory company.

How do you lube chain on ebike?

Rex representative told me that the difference between Black Diamond and the E-version of it is in amount of anti wear additives. E-version is not as watt optimized as regular Black Diamond (not far from it but when in seek of ultimate efficiency regular is better). There is no solvents in Rex...

Orbea rise m20 tyre choice combo?

I chose a different tire strategy. Specialized Grid Trail Butcher T9 at front wheel and Eliminator Grid trail T7 at back. Size is 2,3" but I have to say these are bigger. Maxxis 2,4" WT was not any bigger tire than these. The grip is immense, I have so much more confidence in fast corners. And...

How do you lube chain on ebike?

This topic was so good for me. Ultimately I copied the Muc-Off ebike drivetrain tool. I drilled a hole to a round wood block and glued hex bit to it. Thanks to the Rex Racing waxes (Domestique and Black Diamond) I have to relube rarely. Now those moments are much nicer thing to do. I'm too...

    Novatec crap!

What's the point of replacing it with same crap? Do the freehub upgrade that has been documented here or rebuild the wheel with proper hub. You will end up with same problems and eventually warranty runs out.

    Novatec crap!

Yep, that's the procedure to adjust the Novatec hub or any other cup/cone bearing. You just find balance between overtight and too loose. Then wrench the locking nut tight. I have never used thread lock (+15 years and hundreds of services) on Shimano hubs and no problems. It's a brilliant...

    Novatec crap!

Novatec makes good products and substandard products. D162SB hub used in some Jam2 model falls in substandard category. I replaced the hubs with new Shimano 12-speed XT-hubs. Works well and I personally like Shimano cup/cone bearings which many others hate.

    Novatec crap!

Focus uses cheap and cheerful version of Novatec hubs on Jam2. Freehub uses cup /cone bearings paired with too simple seal. Your cup/cone bearing was not adjusted properly and failed because of that. Simple fix for that, adjust it properly. Sealing problem is harder to solve but heavy overuse of...

    Headset jam2..

You seem to be using regular headset so just use the ZS headset. I just wrote the angleset part as additional information. ZS44 and EC44 use the same bearing size. It's just how the bearing cup is mounted to the frame.

    Headset jam2..

ZS is internal cup and EC is external cup. In this case EC cup is used on the headset's that adjust steering angle. There is no room to do the angle adjustment inside the headtube so it needs to be done outside of the frame. ZS is the regular cup that sits inside in the headtube. Back in old...

    Headset jam2..

Yep, that's the regular one! Angleset for Jam2 would be EC44 / ZS56

    Headset jam2..

I can say that Superstar Components makes headsets that work. Their Made In UK-lineup is _good_. Hope headsets are superb but costly. Works Components makes good headsets too. I put the -2 degree set from Superstar to my JAM2 and I am more than happy. On my Mondraker Foxy I use Works...

Rockshox fork for sduro 5.0 ???

That's a good choice! You would have regretted getting a Sektor. My Focus Jam2 did have it for a moment and it was terrible.

Rockshox fork for sduro 5.0 ???

Use more money on the fork and be happy. Sektor is low end fork and there will be little to no improvement over Suntour. Find a clearance deal of Rockshox Pike, Yari or Revelation. Charger damper is worth the money but you can upgrade to it later.
