Yeah I thought about the Di2 battery (seat tube version) but it doesn't work with the E8000 system easily. Needs a different screen module and wiring etc.. I think I'd rather go back to cable derailleur..
I have a custom Bafang with a 52v pack. The packs aren't that hard to make which is why...
Has anyone built a custom battery for their Shimano E8000? I've been thinking about it because I'd like to build a spare that's a little bit smaller for possible trips back to the car when the main battery dies. Or a very small battery for shuttle days so I can still use my Di2 gears.
I assume...
I've got a Bafang BBSHD on a Ragley Mmmbop. The fit is great (much better than most frames I've tried) because of the rear stay. The chainline is a little out though but if you're gentle when changing up it's fine.
Shigura!!! They've been the most powerful brake I've used (Hope, Shimano, Sram, Tektro, Magura). Currently have V4's on the shuttle rig (just for bling factor) and Saints on the commuter. Shigura are on the ebike and are more powerful than both by a noticeable amount. Modulation is not as good...
It's metric 205x65 with upper Trunnion mount and 40x8 lower. I use an offset bushing on the lower to fit the Jade though.. because it's pointing end of the piggy back nearly touches the top tube (doesn't but close).
You can fit a regular 8.5x2.5 in there though. I did it before the Jade with a...
Fox X2 rear air shock. Yes, you can mix any Shimano lever/caliper. If you wanted to upgrade though, I'd just use Zee or XT quadies. Zee will most likely be cheaper and be just as good as a Saint.
Could have but it's all gone now except for the X2 which I'll keep for a spare.
Funny story about the brakes. I swapped the saints for some hope with some random bloke on the internet before trying my existing set from one of my other bikes... turns out the v4 callipers don't fit and foul on...
A lot of people swap their crank arms out for shorter <165 XT's to reduce crank strikes but even though I upgraded mine, I didn't really have to because I don't ride up rocky technical climbs... I descend rocky technical climbs ?
So you might not need to..
Everything else is pretty much...
You can almost slam a OneUp 150mm dropper.. You can't slam a Bikeyoke Revive 160mm. Max's out at about 3-4cm from the collar because of its awkward actuator mechanism which hits the bend in the seat tube and prevents the dropper from functioning. I can't remember how far the Reverb goes because...
