The issue has not returned, since I used this fix. At least for 5 rides of about 3 hours. enduro stuff.
i checked the battery connection last weekend, and it still looks good, no wear.
I also think that the main issue is up and down movement. the snugger it sets the less side to side movement...
FYI, to fix it temporary, I did these updates:
add plastic under the pastic latch (repair the issue if broken lips)
add a thin plastic part under the metal hook (avoiding play, in general)
if they solved it i believe they will have added material where Hubertsk added the red spacer. here is the side view of what hubertsk showed in previous post :
I still beleive the root cause is the fact that the battery is not puched up far enough into the connector.
Your damage could be explained by side to side movement of the battery at the top. but normally such a connection needs to be 'floating' left/right.
Not 100% sure, but didn't they change...
By the way, i found out that the G5 dropper of canyon is a OEM of this one

the only difference is the ring at the bottom.
i bought the 200mm variant , it was a drop in , didn't even had to change the cable :)
I think it is still possible that the issues is a the bottom.
if there is not enough force at the bottom to keep the battery in its place at the connector it will cause bad connection.
in your case , it seems like the battery was so low, the connectors pins were not inside the female side of...
I added an additional thin plastic strip under the metal clips and went for a ride this weekend. this time success. no issues!
I'll leave it like this, charge battery on the bike. untill Canyon/bosh comes with a decent solution.
went for a ride yesterday, motor was shut down 3 times
still have to investigate if plastic spacer was damaged or moved.
Was anyone able to solve the problem?
I tink that is max insert depth of the dropper itself nooit the insertdepthof the frame. I tried to measure it and seems like almost 300mm. I ordered 200mm dropper. I'll keep you posted if of works
some plastic part i found in my garage that seems to have a correct thickness to fit under the latch. i hope is will keep the batttery better in place. i'm not the first with that idea, see earlier posts
Hi
I bought a small, and seem to have lot of room for longer dropper post. i think i might could install a 190mm dropper. off course i'm not sure if insert depth will be enough
does anyone knows if 190mm would fit into a small frame?
First ride on my Strive:On , battery disconnected 3 times. latch is also broken.
I was expecting that this issue would have been solved on new delveries. they know about the issue already months 🤬
is there a sollution ?
