My set-up in pretty much identical to Jester's.... 90kg, 295 psi... 2.5 positive tokens, 2 bands.
I started off not taking any of the positive tokens out but I found it not using 20%+ of travel.
Removing the extra +ve token has helped but I'm still not using full travel.
In general...
Friday nights in the garage, a few beers, tunes on, bike in bits. It's a good time (y):D
(Well... especially the last year when there's nothing else on Friday nights).
I'd probably add circlip pliers and a strap wrench to your list if you like to get your suspension/seatpost in on the action.
Another Cwmcarn shot from recently... Good to be able to get out safely to the trails for the night rides.
Not long and we won't be needing the torches for another 5-6 months
2019 Expert owner... never had any trouble that wasn't my own doing with the bike. Not sure how many KM, less than @KennyB 's 7000km though - impressive. (I do get injured a lot though.... broken arm, damaged wrist ligaments, a few concussions during my Levo tenure! :D ).
I do get a bit...
My bad. I also purchased one, as you, for a different price. For some reason I got it burned into memory that the RRP was £7.8k
Maybe it was explaining to the wife what value and a good deal it was :D
Not making excuses, but the last S-Works was £12.5k...... Its the S-Works.
Did I see that the Expert was £8k? That's still a little punchy but the 2019 Expert was £7800.
All of the above is a lot to spend on a bike. You don't (or I don't) see that many S-Works around. I live in South Wales...
Fair Play..... looks a helluva bike. Solid review as well Rob.
The TCU, especially that microtune, look like valid, great upgrades. Having IP rated TCU and Battery connecter can't hurt either!
Will be interested to see how the Expert & Comp models look.
As with everyone...
I find if you are using a brand new tyre and clean wheel/tape you'll need to top up after 2-3 months, then the sealant lasts for ages.
I've been using the cafe latex stuff and it's pretty good though I don't seem to shred my tyres like some of you do.
Magic Mary front and rear in 2.6 for me at the moment. I pop a rear Hans Dampf 2.35 on in the summer, the classic combo.
There isn't much between all of the top brands rubber, all will do you well.
I didn't find that the butchers were too bad. There is a feel of more control with the Mary...
I just finished the 2nd 40km ride following upgrading on my 2019 pike.
I still have some tweaking to go to get the shock feeling spot on.
The immediate notice is that I needed about 12 PSI less in the shock to maintain sag at 28%.
Having run the forks like this for 80km across too rides I...
Interesting to hear.
I have done similar miles and still with original chain and cassette (I tried replacing the chain but was too late).
I'm not that far off the cassette being replaced, it looks worn but still runs OK - I am hoping to drag it out until the spring/summer.
The chain-ring...
I went over the top of the frame protection on my Levo and it's been totally fine.
It's another layer of protection so for me I was keen to leave it on.
I ride my ebike 40km pw in the winter and 80-100km a week in the summer.... way more than my old regular bike and I am under no uncertainty that the fitness levels have dropped..... especially peak/redline fitness.
I still redline on climbs and particular routes bit I am no where...
This thought creeps in every now and again. It's been at least 12 months since I rode a regular bike and I have no idea how the legs and knees would fair.
I wonder whether I'd get one and ride it once and then let it gather dust. I miss the fact my old stumpy was about 12-13kg... (26"...
This is the approach I am on. I got "the fear" from this forum about being hyper focused on chain wear, measurements and prompt swapping of chains. :ROFLMAO:
At between 0.5 - 0.75 of the original chain I swapped to a new chain and within the first 10yrds of pedalling it was clear that the...
I popped out the existing command post today when back at home...... the measurement from the collar rim down to the end of the actuator is 260mm.... a fair way shorter than the Oneup V2 210mm which is 300mm internal drop.
I think that the 200mm OneUp Dropper may indeed not fit all...
