I'm just in the market for new stuff myself. I went to put on my Giro open face helm last week and the inside disintegrated in my hand! I realised it was 13yrs old... maybe needs changed! When I looked at my kit after that I realised my full face is a decade old as well! Currently looking at...
@Labrador29 thanks for taking the time to explain it. I'm a new owner so wanted to see what I could be in for!
I rode in a downpour yesterday, then hosed the bike down (not jetwash, just hose) and after cleaning the RCO still seems fine today. I agree it sounds like your first RCO was just...
18k up at glentress today, was very very surprised how easy it was to get it airborne! Landed 1 on a sneaky little pointy rock, had that moment of grimace waiting for the pop n whizz sound!
All good so far :-)
I used to get that line effect on my old Garmin running watch when I went through a short tunnel. It would lose GPS, then for the next 1/2 mile or so it would struggle to find GPS lock again. As soon as it did re-lock it would draw a straight line from where it lost it.
If you were going...
we always do in the UK! Right now, Giant list price for that bike is £4,299 (currently NZD$7946.95).
Out of interest what is it that is wrong with RideControlOne?
It's actually not bad. I had the guy in my local store show me when I was considering it. You disconnect it (pull a plug!) and then undo a single bolt. Battery slides out. Its more hassle than turning a key like on mine, but really it takes <1 min.
Did you look at a Specialized Turbo Levo FSR 2019? That was my "if I could stretch to 4k" bike! It's a 29er, bit lighter and more agile than some others. Folk seem to love it and the frame barely even looks like an e-bike.
Rob did a nice video on YT Decoy vs the Turbo levo, both have an...
Can you tell us what your budget is? It would also help if you can tell us what sort of things you'll be doing with the bike, black/red trails? Downhill? The folk on this forum are full of knowledge, but need a frame of reference to give good advice.
I think my Giant Stance E+1 looks to be...
Hi there. As standard the Stance E+1 2019 comes with ride control one, which doesn't have a screen! Can you tell us which controller you have so that we can help?
@couplands the very one! As far as a bike trail goes it isn't really that exciting. But the views from the top are just awesome. There isn't another peak anywhere near it so you can see for miles in all directions.
Wow!!! Picked it up last night and out on its first run this evening. Took it down to a place called Tinto Hill which I walked up last year and really really struggled with my back. On this beast though! 2000ft (600m) or so of climbing and it just shredded it. No back pain, solid workout...
Fantastic achievement, great video. Was that hero 7 on a gimbal as well? was some extra set up on your chesty, assuming that's what it was.
Hope Andy is ok, massive respect for getting back on the bike and pushing through the obvious pain. Well done to all of you.
H.
@Rob Hancill that's amazing! Properly lightened up my morning! Congrats for finishing in one piece, major kudos for even attempting that crazy event. Eagerly awaiting the full vids.
not new to biking at all, e-biking yes, but biking no :-)
When I said high entry cost its because, being honest, nothing I seen under £2k is actually a capable MTB. Fine for cycling on gravel tracks beside canals maybe, but taking it to your local trail centre? Not likely to go well!
I...
E-biking has a high entry level cost, there isn't really any denying that, particularly since, like electric cars you don't really want to go 2nd hand because the batteries and motor are expensive parts and the initial warranty appears to be priceless!
One issue I found is that very very few...
