...agree with the a bove. A number of reviews have called the "Smart System" version of the Gen 4 CX motor, new, when it is in fact essentially the same. The electronics are however different to work with the CAN FD Bus used with the Smart System and the electrical ports match the plug and play...
Horses for courses......I love driving the T5 as much as the BMW but for completely different reasons. Whether I go to the forest or to the beach...or the heath with the dogs, the drive there is an integral part of the experience not just a journey. Fancy a coffee break whilst you are there...
I think the biggest potential downside to clipless is the development of bad habits....specifically using the pedal connection to lift the bike especially on jumps and drops.
I tried clipless just out of curiosity but for my type of riding I found no benefit. What I did not like were the shoes...
Mileage is less important than a good service history. I know loads of T5 owners with well over 100k miles on the clock. I have had mine from new in 2006. In all that time the only things to fail have been a starter motor and a drive shaft......and its still worth about 40% of what I paid for it.
Not sure why so many folk look for alternatives when a van is the obvious choice.....its not as if modern vans are still very basic commercial vehicles, in fact most are as good to drive as cars, and a lot are combinations of load carriers and MPV as tradesmen often want a van both for work...
Today I found the tendency of the E180 to oversteer when leant into turns on fast
twisty descents can be tamed! Today I rode those sections hanging a lot more behind the saddle and it stopped the oversteer....not sure why!
In general you get what you pay for with bearings. Checking ABEC/ANSi/ISO standard can help together with identification of materials used.
Regardless of bearing quality all bearings are designed to take either radial or thrust loads but not both. Pivot bearings are designed to take radial...
It would be more useful to call non class 1 pedelecs moped or motorcycles.
Maybe not possible now though in the US . I would suggest a naming convention more immediately understandable and meaningfully for everyone including the various State and Federal authorities. Maybe TLP EMTB.......trail...
A nation's culture and character is forged by history and tradition and the Royal Family are the strongest representatives of that. Queen Elizabeth 11 was its best ambassador and a constant throughout my life. Rest in Peace.
Not sure why folk pay any attention to range predictions! The only time it will be anywhere near accurate is when you have been riding for a mile or two and the rest of your planned ride will be the same terrain in the same power mode and gear.
I think lever axles are often not torqued enough.....especially on the back wheel. Usual rear hub torque is 15nm. To achieve that with a 100mm lever should be hard enough to leave a dent in your hand!! ........the thread also needs to be clean and lightly greased .
Gutter press as judge and jury as usual. The only facts here are that the CPS considered there to be sufficient evidence to charge the cyclist. It is up to the court to decide guilt or innocence.
I recently saw a report ( sorry ..cant remember the author etc) on this subject in the US. I came to the conclusion that one very significant reason for the amount of resistance and confusion/ignorance amongst the various authorities that control trail access is the range of EBIKES that are...
...you will find the fit a little loose. I used a thin piece of lint free cloth laid over the face of the plug then the red cap pushed over that. It is then a nice firm fit....the cloth picks up any dirt and can be swopped out now and then.
Assuming the noise is from the area of the front rotor it will not be pads rubbing, it will be the post mount or calliper touching the rotor ( metal to metal.) The post and or calliper are usually only mm from the rotor. If they touch only when you lean the bike you may have some play in the...
You have not mentioned whether the charger works. It must be worth getting that checked out before using it on any other battery.
Good practise with the charger is to find a cap to fit over the magnetic rosenberger plug whenever it is not in use. I used the red cap you find on the small camping...
Personally I would not bother with paint. If it happened once it can happen again so get some frame protector and wrap both chainstays in that area. A coloured genuine helitape would be best...not the thin rubbish you get in kits.
If you want to paint it it would be best to spray it but not easy...
