I'm running a 38T. Max pedal speed on the flat was around 22mph with it's original crank. Now I max out at about 28mph on the flat. Bike still pulls well up really steep hills/valleys where I live.

These seem to be getting some good user reviews. Not changed my pads yet, but might get these in for winter service. (y)

Run a search through Amazon for the pads or Tektro TKD32. You will get a lot of results and prices look reasonable.

Not good. I don't use the Decathlon shop and not been in for a service, as the nearest store is over a 2 hour drive for myself. Hope you get it sorted, as your input and upgrades on this model of bike has been really helpful.
