The constant headache of maintenance and failures seems consistant whether it's wet or dry. Apart from all the bike cleaning when its wet and muddy. Incidentally 2023 has so far been a very bad year in the UK for wet weather. At least in Western England. There has only been a 4 week spell so...
The Levo rattles on rough ground.
I'm fed up with trying to find out what is causing this rattle now. Have ruled out everything:
Battery
Pivot Bearings
Checked bolt torque on all bolts in frame, disc rotors, rear mech
Mudguards
Dropper Post - full service
Wheels - Foam Insert removed. Checked...
But it's not just the Motor.
Most other parts fail on E Bikes just as frequently, if not more so.
As you can see from my comprehsive list. Forks, Shocks, Droppers, full brake systems, rear wheels, rock guards, power cables, speed sensor wires, frame pivot bearings, rear mechs.
I wipe out a rear...
7061 miles. Levo 2020. Another 10% probably goes unrecorded.
2nd Fork
3rd Motor
3rd Rear Shock
3rd Rear wheel
3rd Full Brake system
3rd Power Cable
3rd Speed Sensor Wire
5th Set of Pivot Frame Bearings
3rd Dropper Post
4th Rear Mech
4th Rock Guard
I have lost count on the amount of the other...
The Gears on the Turbo Levo 2020 are stiff to shift.
The bike came with an 11 Speed SRAM GX Drivetrain with NX Cassette.
I have changed the inner cable and noticed there was no drag in the housing ✅
The Derailuer was a GX but then it broke so I changed it to an NX because I believe the only...
I have replaced the Fork and the problem has gone. However, I have another Bike (Analogue) which has a Fox 36 and has got constant clicking coming from the Fork after just 4 months!
Forks, they're shite aren't they ?
Rim smashing - I will be the first to admit that I'm a crap rider with low skill level and always probably will be as I have a very low % rate of progression, if any.
One thing that has saved my rims from getting smashed more recently has been foam inserts. Or maybe just better luck than I had...
I finally took the motor out and reinstalled it, I could not believe how hard this job is. There's so many things you have to do. Took all day. The EMBN video makes it look so easy! It misses so much out! I didn't replace the mount hardware in the end, for one I didn't know how to tap it out, or...
The new mounting hardware has arrived and I'm now wondering, do you have to replace just the bolts or do I have to replace all the mounting hardware as well on the actual motor ? To eliminate the creak while pedalling ? The latter will be an extremely difficult job
What idiot decided to give the Turbo Levo workbook a black background ? It means I can't print it out without wasting two or three full ink cartridges, and that's just the Motor section! (40 pages)
I do all those challenges instead on my Hardtail. I just don't enjoy making my Levo look ugly in all that mud and all the extra cleaning afterwards and all the extra bike maintenance hassle. I hate it, I'm sick of it.
I still ride in the Winter but a lot less often and I'm only doing 1 to 2...
More electrical faults. Mechanical faults are pretty must constant all year round but I definetely get more electrical faults when it's all wet and muddy.
It is actually far less severe when it is frozen as it is usually dry. It's the slightly above freezing, wet and muddy weather, that is the...
I'm in Western England and rarely use the EBike in Winter, only usually during drier periods, but sometimes some very bad Winters happen where there isn't any at all!
Sometimes there is even the "extended Winter" where it is all cold and severely wet and muddy from the beginning of November...
On the EMBN Vid they show some sort of Puller type tool that looks like this:

Do I need one of these as well to remove the Spider ?
I'm getting similar symptoms and wondering if I need to replace all the Motor Mounts, where can I get these ?
The Levo in question is a Turbo Levo Comp 2020
It has done around 11,000km and is 3 years old, so getting to that age when other users have reported that they have had to replace all...
Anyone know how to remove the Motor on a 2020 Turbo Levo Comp ?
Last time I tried to unscrew all the Motor Mount bolts but there was still something holding it solidly in place.
