Nope..I don't ride like you and that has no appeal at all ..
The group I ride with are all of a certain age (the youngest is 58) and while we like technical trails & a bit of downhill speed ..we tend to spin it out over the course of the day on 30mile+ rides where a bit of craic & piss taking is...
Bolts Law full route with bits of Slaley Forest thrown in ( 27 miles ) with Ant & Wayne .
Cracking ride but lots of standing water ..Good to be out there
Tuesday May 21st..
Blink & the whole scene changes ..
The start of " Into The Valley " on the Deadwater Trail at Kielder ..it felt completely naked without the tree cover but thankfully the trail remains intact ..
The summit of Deadwater Fell..aliens are still visiting
The view looking...
Daft question ..it all depends on the terrain & conditions ..as above I've blown a set of pads on a wet ride on the N.York Moors in 4hrs ..but have also had pads last months in dry summer conditions ..
You can't really put a number on it .
Monday 13th May ..
The Three Cols of Torridon.
A fantastic three & a bit days of riding with approx 100miles covered in some of the oldest mountains in the world..
Many thanks to Ant ,Alan , Col, Dave, Frank, Ryan & Wayne for the craic & company ..we had a blast 😁
Just about Col..rested for two days ..had a day at work yesterday and legs back to normal now ( or as normal as they ever are) ..
We are already discussing a Cairngorms trip for around the same time next year 👍🏻
I wasn't going to do this ( honest !) ..but then I thought ..naaah stuff it its expected ( at least by @billwarwick )..so here comes an avalanche of pictures from our recent Scottish Highland trip..but not all in one go 😁
Starting with ..
Saturday 11th May..Ben Damph route..
above L to R Alan...
Two from yesterday the first for scale but riders can be seen if you enlarge the pic ..and yes it was a very sketchy walk down ..
( More pics can be seen from various riders in the rideout section of the forum on the Torridon feature )
My trip summary ..
The unfortunate news from Colin BM upon his return from Arran that his bike was fkd again put a bit of a dampner on things on Thursday evening ..and It was sad that he couldn't join us ..but once I got rolling on the journey up it wasn't hard to get into holiday mode .
Great...
Monday ..The Three Cols of Torridon..
A thirty mile loop from the door of the cottage where the off-road started on the Coulin Estate after a lengthy road section along Glen Torridon..
Unfortunately shortly after this pic ..Alan had to call it a day due to a double punture that simply...
Sunday ..Applecross.
As Ryan had to leave on Monday morning and Frank travelled up with him the ride which they really wanted to do was the Torridon lollipop route which was fair enough ..but because of table reservations & the fact that we were meeting @Binhill1 it was too short notice to...
Ben Damph today ..the final climb & drop is pretty brutal ..but the weather & scenery more than made up for it..
Introducing ...L to R
Dave Brown ( @JFDI )& Frank..
Dave must have said someting to offend Frank as he's taking one to the guts ..
L to R
Ryan, Ant Carr ( @timberjack ), Alan...
Got here early afternoon yesterday and after dropping gear off into the cottage four of us decided to go for a little bimble ..
It was going to be a short jaunt up the nearest track ..then into Torridon for a quick cuppa prior to the other three lads arriving ..so as such we didn't really get...
