Yes indeed we all agree its not needed, required or even desired. Back to the question though...
Does anyone definitivly know what the bafang controller does with the brake signal?
This thread quickly jumped off brakes onto shifting ;)
Back to brakes. Does anyone know WHY the bafang brake levers send signal to the controller. I'm not asking if I should run them because i know this crew will say no. I'm only asking if anyone knows what they do - like to cut any "wind...
Well yeah but don't they give some breaking signal to the controller? I ask because some complain about the motor revving in times when it should not and maybe a breaking signal is designed unto the system to make it work better. I might be able to hack a pressure sensor safely into "real...
My m600 kit came with levers that signal the controller electronically. I don't want to use them for the various obvious reasons. I asked my sales person can I simply not use them, and she said "you have to use them". Clearly I don't. I see many people not use them. But what consequence occurs...
Very nice build. I'm doing one similar and I have a question more about the M600 kit than the whole bike. My m600 kit (and I guess all others too) come with Chinese brake levers that signal the controller electronically. I. like you, don't want to use them for the various obvious reasons. I...
Thanks man, i ask you questions because were same height and same frame! On that note, what's the largest dropper length/travel you can safely fit in the 19" e10? Thanks (these questions will end as the bike has only a finite set of parts that i have no experience with! 😁
Figure out your frame's default size. Likely it fits a 160mm by default (no riser). So look for a shimano 203 riser bracket that works on a 160 default (once you confirm the 160 actualy is the default)
Any 203 will work but pick one thats robust unless (AKA not alloy sandwich)
Hey thank thanks for all you insight. One more question. I've sourced Shimano M6100 brakes for my e10 build. I read online that they are very reliable but is there any reason that they are not appropriate for an emtb build?
Also what size rotors did you run on your e10?
Hey I'm a tad over 6ft tall and have a 19" E-10 on order. I'm likely to go with a short stem like you did. But here's my question... You said "I doubt You will get a dropper post installed with more then 125 mm travel". I assume you mean in the 17"?
Put differently, whats the maximum dropper...
Good idea. I just did that per your request.
On a different note - Does anyone know what version of the firmware is shipping on the M600 currently (or recently)?
Thanks for the insight.
The feeling I get is out of the box the m600 is slightly overpowered and the m510 is slightly underpowered say compared to bosch.
Would you say I have that right?
This question is for m600 riders with a lot of miles on that motor.
How reliable is it in practice? For the sake of the question set aside any water intrusion issues. I can solve for those.
I'd like to know in a general sense if the m600 generally works as advertised or if around some milage...
I'm thinking about building an emtb. I do have some experience. I took a land speed record for electric motocycle at Bonneville in 2008 on an electric harley davidson I built from the ground up. But it only had one pedal. :)
