Thanks for the info. So I just bit the bullet so to speak and got the new Shimano "Linkglide" M8130 11 speed.
It's apparently the unit that Shimano's built for EMTB's. Apparently 3x stronger than the current hyperglide units like mine. I wish i'd known before I bought the 12 speed unit i have...
The m560 will work great for your purposes. The Luna controller is overkill IMHO. Your bike will still scream.
A couple notes for this type of use ( I wish someone told me this before I built my first bike ):
On flat road use you tend put more stress on the smallest cog in the cassette, as...
Nice. Yes that's my point. The m600 suffers from old thinking in it's design. It performs well on the flat or up slight hills. But on the steep you have to downshift to keep the RPM high enough to keep power flowing from the m600. This means you slow down. My father, on his brose for example...
No full review but ill tell you my take... (notice I reordered by power
M820 = Low power (250w/75Nm) AND low weight - best used with light bikes - comparable in philosophy to Bosch "CX" line - configurable
M510 = A Good choice for EU or other places with a limit on power (250w/95Nm) more power...
Here's the good news: It looks like the M560 is a drop-in replacement for the M600. Bolt pattern/wiring looks the same.
I had suspected that Bafang would make a "M600 replacement". When the M620 turned out to be quite a different beast I lobbed a note into Chili Shen to let me know when she...
You bike is highly modified! Us stockers are seeing different performance. ;)
I do see 750 watts but only when I add throttle - never on pedal alone. My cadence is over 60rpm FWIW.
I can't speak to the M510 because I don't have one, but my general understanding is that the m510 is weaker IN a CLIMB than the m600, at least out of the box. Correct me if I'm wrong.
let me be clear i'm only talking about LONG SLOW CLIMBING.
I can say for SURE the m600 is weaker than the...
Is the m620 a moped motor? (he asks rhetorically ;)
I guess I'm excited about Bafang releasing a light-ish eMTB motor that can compete with the Brose in a climb The m510 does not come close and the m600 can but only with use of the throttle, not with pedals alone.
I'm personally hoping that...
The ride did occur this morning but the video did not because I have no mount and trying to climb and film is too hard ! ;)
First - 64.7 and 64.9 seem very similar - but there are better firmware testers on the board and I'll defer to them.
But I can shed some light on some interesting...
I think it's evident you think I'm complaining about power output. I'd hoped to frame this a as a COMPERABLE SPEED problem on SPEEP SLOPES.
The M600 makes a lot of power. That's not the problem.
The M600 makes a lot of speed. That's not the problem.
Only point of the complaint --> The...
To be clear the Brose is faster on a steep slope in ANY GEAR I choose to use. "Correct gearing" is not at issue because ALL gears are slower than the Brose.
I don't think you understand that the brose is making tons of torque in like 8th gear and the m600 stops making torque in 5th because...
Maybe. I'm beginning to agree with the OP when he said this:
He's recognizing that while the m600 can outperform the Brose on the flat during acceleration the Brose has more torque overall. This is evident in a side by side climb.
Remember the only reason I started chasing issues with this...
