They’re been bled twice, and both callipers replaced by Canyon.
I could order some Galfer purple pads to see if it improves things, but the levers are still not going to have any feel. I have 2 friends with XT brakes and they both feel the same. It must just be the way they are.
I really, really dislike the Shimano XT brakes on the CFR. They're weak, fade quickly, and the lever has no feel.
Can't decide what to replace them with. Hope Tech 4 V4 or Magura MT7 Pro are on the list, but are there any others that I should be looking at?
Is it normal for Deore XT levers to have quite a bit of slack before the callipers bite, and then not provide much feedback when they do?
My other bike has SRAM Guide RSC levers and they are much, much better feeling than these XTs. After only one ride I'm already thinking about changing them :(
It's taken weeks to get my Strive:ON CFR (750wh) ready due to some drama with the bike. Both brakes were very soft straight out of the box, so I thought that they needed bleeding. The guy who Invisiframed the bike bled them, and the front brake got very "tight" but the rear brake was still very...
I know that I don't have the patience for such fiddly things. I found a guy who wraps them for a very decent price compared with other shops. He's listed as an approved fitter on Invisiframe's site so he must be legit.
Thanks. I figured the same, so I ordered matte shortly after my previous post.
Time for to find some valves and sealant. Bike won't be wrapped until 02/03 July. Torture :(
Hey @Fat Rat
If it’s still available, would you mind letting me know why you swapped the standard Fox 38 fork with the Domain?
Does it have the Shimano MT420 brakes?
Do you have any idea what the health of the battery is like, and is there any warranty left on the bike?
