    Rough shifting

Confused by what you feel in terms of the back end of the bike movement when changing gear. Initially you said it felt like a sideways movement.......then above you said vertical movement. You said you checked pivots and bearings.......have you checked freehub bearings? A collapsed outer bearing...

    Rough shifting

as you change to smaller cogs so the chain becomes slacker. If your chain is well broken in you may find you can now re adjust the B tension which would help. You should also check the pivot points on your mech are wel lubricated and that the clutch has sufficient tension.

    Runaway train!

I did say earlier in this thread that assuming you were not getting brake fade due to heat and you can lock at least the rear wheel when applying the brake ( not that doing so will help a lot to reduce speed!) your issue is a bout managing your speed to match the features you encounter on a...

    Canyon Emtb Battery Safety Notice

I dont know the exact details of the fixing method for the battery on these bikes but if it is bolted to the down tube top and bottom it would need to be a ble to flex since a carbon downtube ( rather more than an ally one) is likely to flex to a degree. That might explain the cracking...

    Canyon Emtb Battery Safety Notice

I am not affected by this and sympathise with those that are. If this was an issue for me I would be more inclined to think the battery fixing method was the primary mistake here rather than the quality of the plastic casing. That method of fixing may well be reliable in an urban bike where it...

    Runaway train!

An EMTB has more momentum and that usually translates to faster speeds on downhill trails..........to compensate the bike is much more planted and stable. You have 2 choices..........trust the bike, get used to the speed and enjoy it.........or control your speed with early braking rather than...

Need help from expert: Fox 38 Factory Fork Setup Issues - Seeking Advice for EMTB Descending Performance

TF Tuned (UK) also offer a re tune which consists of removing some of the hardware on the damper. Last service by them on my 2021 Fox 38 they offered to do that but I opted to go for a change to a different oil instead.........that has improved the fork but will probably go for the re tune next...

New bike day, Mondraker Crafty RR

I agree, it is a soft rubber cap and perfectly waterproof although I have another (2024)E160 rsx with exactly the same arrangement except the cap seems to have some additional stiffening and I am sufficiently confident in that not to cover it. The one on the pictured RSX seemed a little to...

New bike day, Mondraker Crafty RR

dont know the details of the charging port on this bike but on every bike I have bought I make my own cover to go over whatever flimsy rubber or plastic is fitted as standard. I use Neoprene held onto the frame over the cover with hd velcro. OK you may not like the aesthetics but my priority is...

Need help from expert: Fox 38 Factory Fork Setup Issues - Seeking Advice for EMTB Descending Performance

Yes I thought at your weight ( +10kg compared to mine) you would need a higher air pressure and therefore less SAG. dont be blinded guided by numbers though!! There are big differences in the amount of SAG you get due to both differences in bike geo and exactly how you go a bout determining your...

SLX cassette toast at .5 chain stretch.

If by upper you mean the largest cogs you may be able to sort that without changing cassette. Re check your b tension and indexing. A new chain is stiffer than a used one ....ie less sideways flex and that impacts on how far the mech pushes it from one cog to the next. Possibly easing the b...

Need help from expert: Fox 38 Factory Fork Setup Issues - Seeking Advice for EMTB Descending Performance

Further up this thread I described the difference between my 2021 and 2023 Fox 38s. Neither is e tuned and they are the same Performance Elite model and on the same bikes. The 23 has a damper tune similar to my previous experience of an e tuned 38....the 21 is much harsher.

Orange assistance level on Bosch controller

A lot of apps do not close when you just change to a different tab and often do not have an easilly found log out option...........so the app remains active. If you go onto your internet option and then select/close all tabs you close the app down ....together with every other app you had opened...

    Strive:ON problems

I agree about terminal wear with repeated connection/disconnection...............which is why my battery stays in the bike and only removed to check once a year!! For computer connections to an international standard there used to be specifications for the maximum number of connection and...

    Strive ON:Underdog - DB8 - Rear Caliper

I would say your LBS is right. The calliper is not correctly positioned if the pad is wearing on the bottom edge.........it means the calliper is mounted too high, or angled in at the bottom. If it is the former then it has the wrong adaptor.....if it is the latter the calliper fixing is not...

    Strive:ON problems

Putting dialectric grease on the actual terminal pins is counterproductive. By all means carefully apply a little BETWEEN the pins...although that should not be necessary unless the connector gets water ingress. The mating between male and female connectors should be clean and thats all. The...

    Strive:ON problems

not sure the materials make up of the connector pins but looks like they are/were copper with a harder surface material. That surface material has worn away probably due to arcing. It needs to be replaced because it will not provide a secure connection to the female battery connectors.
