With XT (and all Shimano 4 pot) calipers and thicker rotors what you have to do is gently push caliper pads apart a little more than with narrower rotors, and if necessary remove a small amount of brake fluid from levers to compensate.
I have the below flap on all year round, stops all the shit getting into the pivot. Cut out of thin neoprene.

That's a very interesting video, thanks for making it. Basic conclusions seems to be: use Shimano cable shifting, use 625Wh battery, forget Airwiz. Or put another way, forget the gimmicks and put your money into well proven components . (y)
