Oh my you picked a heck of a bike for a first time build! my first was a norco carbon enduro - took me all winter to acquire all the parts/tools.. wish id been more prepared and ordered earlier..

Are you looking to do a budget build or a 'baller" build...

Wheels mfg does not have it listed so hope they will be available for some time....I should have...
Thank you for posting such a detailed explanation and warning. This equates a total crap battery in my book. I had a client bring me a bike with a home made battery and like you found, the welds were too weak, nickel strips came off and damage ensued. luckily no fire. when i go on ESforums...
thx i'll look into the 8 spd microshift, also might go with the setup Mabman mentioned he was doing well with - Sensah - all steel cassette, RD 10-50 11 spd...
As for Bram - i suspect he shreds just a bit harder than most of us lol.
Bram did you consider the Sram EX1 8 speed drivetrain? case hardened tool steel cassette, specially designed wider chain for ebike use...wide range 11-48t. Edit: just read a bikeradar review and the tester went through 3 chains and 1 cassette in 2500 kms...i think that still kinda sucks for a...
oof yes i think i remember you posting pics about that. yikes. I dont plan to run at full power when riding trail. I really wanted something faster for the commute TO the trails as my shimano e8000 even hacked really wont go over 40kph or so... Also throttle in case i get injured and need to...
Just starting shopping for my build...any recommendations on what to buy or avoid?
Also if you are in Canada/USA feel free to dm me offers on parts you have...
I'll be buying new or nearly new takeoffs to save $$
Fork: Fox 36 or yari or lyrik, or a Domain, zeb or Fox 38 if I can snag a good...
So I ordered my E22 today!!!
I have a 2018 Devinci AC I can either 1. Sell or 2. Strip for parts I need and sell the rest. Or 3. buy a bunch of cheaper "meh/ok" parts and slap the old devinci back together on low budget and sell as complete bike...
What I don't know: is there much demand for...
Yeah I keep hearing good things about frey, only one exception, I found one forum where a guy broke his frame but i think he was a much more hardcore rider than me. Tires on this one are CST BFT 3.0 so like a plus plus version of minion DHR...i have a new set of minion 2.8 if they suck. thanks...
For readers - what would you do?
So I was about to pull the trigger, and then a local seller of Frey I noticed has a Frey AM1000 (VER 5) for $4900 CAD - reasonably well specced (yari fork, sram nx drivetrain).
The Dengu E22 build i was budgeting would cost right around that amount IF SHOPPING...
Yes i saw the FC length and corrected that in my own chart I made (of course assuming the WB is correct), i also think its correct on geometrygeeks website..
Has anyone confirmed (actually measured) all the posted geometry info on size large or med frame for the E22? I'm trying to choose between med and large and I'd hate to make a mistake based on bad info. I'm 5'10 (178 cm), 32 inch inseam. Most bikes size large is ideal for me, but if reach is...
Less fit, but more fun, and i ride more often....i was seriously stressing my heart trying to keep up with my riding group before. now, still a great workout but I don't feel like i'm about to die from the climbs.
$995 this season so far, and part of last season when i bought it...so roughly 1 full season. I bought used so some of these are not typical every year:
$300 newer/slightly used sram gx 11 spd cassette
$450 newer/slightly used Shimano e8020 battery (ebay score yay!) Mine I think is rather...
Thnks Gary! I figured an equally easy fix - cheap velcro ankle wrap - its elastic and will go around the battery a couple times so should keep the water and dirt out as long as its not submerged...
part # Y72V00007 CG Port Cap - cannot find this anywhere mine was missing when i bought bike.
Sugru good idea, or i'm thinking just a velcro wrap of some kind just to protect it and not worry bout it...
ST unlockers website says " the best way to rise the Speed Limit is to change the destination market to US (32km/h)." - only 32kph? does it not unlock to 50kph like others?
