If they ran wide tires they'd be slower... I know that. and racers get flats sometimes too... they have to strike a fine balance between speed and durability...I don't. Wider rim= stiffer wheel which is what i want Wider tire = better grip I find and thats safer which is more important to me...

around here we have near perfect loamy trails and some hardpack dusty trails. lots of roots and rocks. the bigger air cushion can prevent pinch flats by providing a larger cushion before the rubber ever contacts rim and cuts it - very tire pressure dependent though, too low and obviously its...

why 2.6? 3 reasons: 1. for max traction - we get a lot of loose dirt over hardpack, roots, slippery rocks etc - love the traction i get with the 27.5x2.8 - never had better. 2. bigger air cushion - less pinch flats, tire damage, less damaging to trails, small bump absorption. 3. also want to...

MAX 29" TIRE SIZE? I know someone posted the max in specs is 29x2.4... but has anyone mounted 2.6 - clearance issues? Kind of critical as im switching to 29er and need to decide on rim width to buy...prefer 35mm for 2.6 tire.

    Eagle (SX) tuning - help!

Unfortunately, the SX is a plastic piece of junk, shameful that put that on an "expert" model. mine snapped in half on my 2nd ride - replaced it with shimano SLX

Cutting the cranks saved a whopping 35mm, because bafang left a LOT of meat on the end of the cranks which seems completely unnecessary...that and i can still add a thingamabob to the shock to increase ramp up, and add offset bushings if needed.

Would you buy a bike that can't be derestricted ?

You make riding a bike sound equally technical as flying a fighter jet - be serious. At some point you have to stop trying to legislate stupidity; 25kph is far too fast for riding on a busy multi use trail (with pedestrians) - so we need a new law to restrict ebikes to 5kph when pedestrians...

Thanks Neeko, that confirms it. I like challenging climbs and a low bb just does not work for me. I might try 29x2.5 or 2.6, and offset bushings, should help but will dramatically change the handling most likely.

Would you buy a bike that can't be derestricted ?

Would you buy a car that is limited to 60kph? I mean they would be sooo much safer, amiright?

went on another test ride - Im really bummed about this build....pedal strikes like crazy again. the bb height on my setup is 333mm. My other enduro (Devinci AC) has 360-370 (adjustable flip chips) mm bb height, and pedal strikes are not too frequent on it. i have it on the 360mm setting. for...

Would you buy a bike that can't be derestricted ?

one good reason is now I can quickly commute to the bike park on my bike rather than loading it up into the truck and driving to the bike park.

Would you buy a bike that can't be derestricted ?

you seem to have the mistaken idea that people want to do 50kph on the trails...no sir this is mainly for the road. its safer to keep up with traffic. don't ride like an idiot and we wont generate negative images of ebikes.

Would you buy a bike that can't be derestricted ?

nope. in fact my de-restricted shimano e8000 still annoys me by losing the speedometer, and inability to buy parts to repair motor, so i upgraded to a diy build with a bafang ultra.

RS Zeb 170mm - i aim for 20% sag so on the upper end of pressure. I think i had my rear shock pressure too low... more testing needed.. but still its a downgrade as far as ground clearance goes compared to my old bike.

I'm running 27.5x2.8, which is nearly same diameter as a 29" 2.3, and i really like the wider tires anyhow... compared to 29" x 2.35; would raise the rear end about 9mm, and 29"x2.6" (if they fit) would raise rear end approx 14mm (based on this tire shootout) So going to 29" might raise the...

Ground clearance/pedal strikes anyone? Comparing to my Devinci AC EMTB, my E22 has 23mm (~ 1 inch) LESS clearance from pedals to ground. This is resulting in a LOT more pedal strikes on climbs compared to my Devinci. Obviously going to 150mm cranks is the best solution... adding offset bushings...

I've been scouring aliexpress tonight and there is Shimano cues 6000 parts all over (Linkglide). Linkglide is supposedly better shifting under load, e-bike rated, and 3x more durable than HG drivetrains. the only thing I could not confirm is if the chains are actually STRONGER. the linkglide...
