It isn't that plastic pedals are bad - it's the pins! Wait till you ride pedals with plastic pins in the wet - it's scary. The best pins are the ones that screw in with an allen key - they seem to have the best shoe holding ability. They're also carnivorous
I have one on the front for Winter - I prefer it over the dhf. I'm not aggressive enough when leaning the dhf and it's caught me out a couple of times. I like the assegai, but I just wish it had more volume like the dhf. I might try the 2.6 next, currently running 2.5.
I never had pedal strikes on my accoustic (26" 120mm) trail bike with 175mm cranks. With 165mm I'm probably down to one each ride on my ebike? When I started riding my ebike I was striking all the time. I don't know what it is - I never bothered to look. There is something definitely different...
paraffin (candle) wax. It's supposed to be the best and really doesn't attract dirt. I remove chain every 100km, pour hot water over it to clean it, but it really doesn't need this. When it's cold again it is stiff because there is still wax inside! 100km is very conservative. I don't ride in...
It looks as though Kaelidoz has found the most logical answer. It wouldn't hurt to just eyeball the alignment of the chain - look along the chain from the rear while it is in different gears. You might see something glaringly wrong like a poorly mounted motor which has the chainring alignment...
wouldn't you be better starting a new account and doing an auto monthly transfer of $14 or $12 or $48 or whatever you're prepared to pay? I guarantee you'd come out in front over time and you wouldn't be encouraging bad business. No excess etc, no fine writing and all the unknown reasons they...
smart phones and computers also don't need constant updating. Many of the smartphone updates are for mr g00gle's benefit - very intrusive at getting all your information. MS, apple, amazon, fb - they're all the same - we're just the sheep to be farmed for our data. Whenever I connect e tube I...
I don't actually enjoy just bouncing off everything. I've been dialling it back a bit and choosing my lines - staying in control. I think I just like more technical - not rely on big burly suspension. Braking before, then letting go over rocky sections or dropping through deep wash outs...
Yes - and I'm pretty sure it's the latest firmware (nothing to update a month or two ago). Maybe that's the problem . It isn't dynamic - it just turns at a certain speed. I'm guessing they set it up assuming it would be in the highest gear for safety? If they set it up correctly for the...
I bought a similar thing - different branding, but that's probably all . Although I think the deckas are 11x and I need 12x, which is why I didn't buy deckas. I wanted smaller so went 32 (from 34). It's OK but won't last as long, so I've ordered some more. It was 10 of these or one steel...
I wonder if they have changed this then? Like you, I'm usually in my lowest gear and in a place where I'm struggling to stand up once off the bike. The walk assist for me is still useless (slightly faster than standing still). I have an e140 2020 model.
Before each ride, I go over the bike with some brushes to get dried mud off (5mins?). Then I go over it with compressed air; blast out the calipers, all the bearings around the forks etc. Wipe down hydraulics (suspension and dropper). Touch of brake mineral oil on hydraulics, work them, wipe off...
I agree with you. They are fun but I bought before I knew this side of them. It isn't just the motors - speed sensor and battery too. I've had my fair share of speed sensor issues very early. Most people seem prepared to defend them, which I find strange. Why would a manufacturer change if...
I ride two steep technical hills, about 500m each, about 2-3x a week. When I started I'd get caught out in a few places. Now, I generally get through without a hiccup. These are also my downhill runs. They are hard clay with baby head size sharp loose rock and some embedded rock, big washouts...
On my merida, the cable is anchored where it enters the frame. I have to loosen off that anchor point before I can get any slack cable to the dropper. Could yours be like this too?
I assumed everyone knew - there are different strengths for different bolt sizes. For my bikes, and use two different strengths. Eg, 242 is for bolt diameters 6mm - 19mm, and 222 is for smaller. I have generic brand stuff, but same principle. If I was going to pick one for bikes it would be 222.
One other option, considering the changes that you're considering  - sell and buy something closer to the mark? Although this is still a few necessary changes too. Giant has a new emtb ht with 26" wheels. I don't think it is well thought out, especially considering it is aimed at youth. It...
