When I bought my 2012 trek fuel ex8, new, it came with a bontrager shock pump. Many bikes used to back then. It was my first air fork and first full sus, so obviously I just looked at the pump mystified :ROFLMAO: I still have it - the bike and the pump
I have a friend with giant emtb - he likes it. I think he said it is good for 42 or 45km/h? It is fully enclosed. He's had it for about 2 weeks. Basically, for him, it is unlimited. He installed it himself - he does most things himself. Don't know the compatibility issues - he is in IT and of...
I've been using DHRII as a winter tyre - it is good at not holding clay / mud. It's also high volume, which I like. I don't think it is a great grip for climbing and braking, as many youtube reviewers state; I actually wonder if many of the reviewers are just repeat the marketing blurb. I'm not...
I have a van. It was reasonably cheap, low km but neglected. I spent some time and money on it, and it's awesome. We use it a lot as a van - carting bikes around is just one use. We've kept it as a basic van, which is great. We can use it to transport stuff, which we do a lot, go on holidys with...
I think I have a targhee II mid waterproof - hate it. It's delaminating a bit from new, too flexible, shit grip, and pseudo waterproof, hot and sweaty. The other is a voyager mid, not waterproof. Much better boot; stiffer, not falling apart, cooler. I'll stick to my runners till the new shoes...
If you can go 2.25" in high volume tyre, what about maxxis crossmark II? I have it on the rear of an ancient xc hardtail (narrow rims) for a bit of suspension. Very good on road and OK for basic off road. It was originally designed as a xc tyre. Can get it in 2.25 29" and 27'5". Check out the...
When my current emtb is out of warranty, I was thinking of relegating it to urban / commuting / adventure duties. The theory being no where near as much stress and it should last a long time. Get a new emtb for off road :) for the following two years hard use. That's the loose plan at this point.
If they don't want your money - go elsewhere. Bad business should not be rewarded. Plenty of awesome tires around; assegai in 2.6 for example, or michelin ewild.
Yes, we're all getting intolerant of each other. I assume it's our increasing numbers and competition for everything, but who knows. It's strange, you'd think that we as a group (emtb) with our freedoms questioned, and ridicule from some non emtb riders, we'd be more tolerant ourselves. Some of...
So you're literally using walking boots! I didn't realise, I thought you'd found flat pedal shoes from scarpa and keen. Great idea - although the keens aren't that stiff. I always assumed keens were huge toe box because they are from the US. So many people seem to have wide or high (me) feet...
They look awesome! Most people have some sort of issue :ROFLMAO: I've got one big left foot with limited movement. My partner is 4'11"! It's only the last couple of years that there have been good quality 24" dual suspension bikes. Nothing on the horizon for her in emtb yet :(
I always hated carrying bikes on roofs or the back of cars. Often on hot sunny days, or dusty roads, or wet muddy roads. With bikes on the rear I was always conscious of getting rear ended. I was lucky enough to find a cheap van owned by an older woman :ROFLMAO:, that didn't have many km, but...
I also bushwalk, and scarpa are a big name in walking boots. Most Italian boots, especially scarpa, are long and skinny. Keen walking boots aren't very well made (always delaminate, wear quickly, poor grip in steep country), but awesome roomy toe boxes.
When sales start to really slow down, and all stock isn't going out the door before it's put on a shelf, they will probably look at your replacement warranty motor. Generally big business' #1 goal is profit. You're lucky you got a loaner - that was good of the LBS!
I wouldn't ride away and ignore them either - it's those sort of acts that people use as examples that we should all be registered :( We have quite a bit of freedom that many other transport users are jealous of.
There is a recent shimano update; the etube app makes it looks as though you have no option but to update (I tell it to bugger off). I imagine the mechanic would have updated it. Badass is showing compatible up to 4.7.1 - I think the recent update is 4.8.
Troubleshoot the badass first (change...
Well, I've finished my own researching and settled on Ride Concepts Powerline. They get pretty good reviews as being better made and longer lasting than five tens; not quite as grippy but close. Also big toe box area and a fair bit of protection including inside ankle. They also have gusseted...
Are they resin? Mine came with brakes not suited to my area :ROFLMAO: I could avoid the big descents, but I think I'll get sintered pads next - the rear rotor I replaced is metal pad compatible. Front can stay resin - rotor is resin compatible only.
