I have a cheap maul and axe that were left in this house. I've cleaned them up, soaked heads in old engine oil, oiled the handles, done some reshaping of the maul behind the edge for better penetration, and sharpened them. The maul is very basic; heavy, long handle and so effective; I wish I...
Sometimes bigger motors are more economical when touring. Around town, no. Out on the open road they're just loping along easily. It may becoming a thing of the past though, that sort of travel.
I really don't see how you can be held to blame. Now, the exotic meat markets in China? Where it has happened before? And at this point will happen again? And all with the knowledge of hindsight and science - that seems blameworthy.
That doesn't sound right - it isn't my experience. I'd get nothing from wiping my chain - maybe some dusty wax. It is mostly dry where I ride, so I clean and wax every 100km. If it goes to 120km, it's still good. I pour near boiling water over the chain in a sieve to clean. Then I leave it in...
They are very popular here in Tasmania. As usual though, like most of those with 4wd, they rarely see conditions where 4wd is needed. Most of the time it seems like driver skill is lacking. I have a 1999 ford econovan; they are notorious for getting bogged / losing traction when there is no...
If it's for the front, it might be wise to see what size limit the forks are safe using; there will be a lot more torque. It wouldn't be wasted on the rear, which generally does the most braking, albeit light breaking.
Yeah, I didn't take much notice of the supposed breed he is . Farmer said staghound. People keep asking what he is, I tell them "supposedly a staghound", they all tell me he doesn't look like it and proceed to rattle off a mixture of breeds :ROFLMAO:. He's got feet like a wolf, and...
One good thing is that all these supplied pooh bags are bio degradable. There are also dog pooh bins. If I get home without finding a pooh bin, I can drop it in the compost. It's still a sad practice by many dog owners. I'm guessing it's because most dog walkers don't carry anything with them -...
I've been using it, wax and teflon. Every 100km or so I remove the chain, put it in a strainer and pour near boiling water over it to clean. Soak it in the wax mix for about 5 or 10 mins. I just brush the cluster and chain ring etc during routine maintenance. I'm getting half the stretch that I...
We have had a pup for a few weeks now. He was pretty sick and ribby, from a farm. I thought he was close to dead. After lots of money to the local vet, lots of good food and some exercise, he's a new dog and seems to have normal energy levels. We've loosed the devil in him though :ROFLMAO...
I've heard walkers complain of the potential for collisions (I'm in a bushwalking club), even though it hasn't happened to any of them, and track damage, which is true to a degree. Everyone that complains has some sort of reason, whether it is a real problem or not. I've heard mtb riders...
Yes, unfortunately that's a huge problem here too. In built up areas or popular areas for dog walking there are biodegradable bags and bins supplied for dog poop. We always see bags of poop left by the side of the trail or on the beach. Absolute arrogance and laziness. They're not doing the dog...
There are various groups that feel exactly the same way about us on emtb. As a species that is crowding itself out, we're losing tolerance with ourselves. Escooters, mtb, horseriders, dog walkers, walkers - whoever. Personally I think anything not involving cars and traffic and in the outdoors...
My kit is fairly small but comprehensive and includes some first aid stuff which I've had to use a few times. Everyone seems to have their own ideas; I would recommend a rear mech hanger though.
