I started using chain wax (Squirt Chain Lube) and so far, I like it better than oil/teflon based lubes. It doesn't attract dirt. After a ride, the chain still looks clean, since the wax sheds dirt off, one of the main reasons I no longer need to wash bike as often. And wax based lubes are...
Dawn came out with a new product called Powerwash. It's much more effective compared to regular Dawn and the sprayer works so well it's almost like foam.
I have long arms/torso and short legs. Which typically puts me on a large for comfort. Even so, I went with the medium because the large felt too big to throw around and wheelie. For greater comfort, rather than going with a longer stem (which is still an option), I moved the seat back a...
The 9.8 has more improvements than just upgrades on the suspension. Which BTW, the Rock Shox is superior compared to the fox group on the 9.7. The 9.8 also has upgraded transmission, better brakes, better dropper post, and far better wheelset. The wheelset alone is almost worth the extra cost...
I'm the same height 178cm and having the same dilemna, ultimately settled on a medium. I used to ride an early model slash large, which actually had a shorter effective top tube compared to the medium eXE. Modern frames have changed a lot. One more thing to consider is the seat post that...
They are replacing both the air spring on left side (160mm) and dampener on right side with added buttercups. The price they quoted is actually reasonable considering both parts retail for $460.
I hope your wrong about the buttercups, though the entire upgrade will be $400 including install. The decals were easy to install and price was ~ $50 for everything. Though the head badge decal came out looking bad and I'll replace it with a thick aluminum one. I'll pass along the links to...
I just found out how easy it will be to swap out the main battery, for reasons previously mentioned. For $150 more for twice the Kwh compared to the small extender battery I will likely order the full battery too.
On another note, I wasn't too happy with the paint schemes Trek offers on these...
I was just quoted $599USD for extender battery with mid-May availability and $750USD for the main battery from a local Trek store. Are these the prices everyone else is getting quoted?
I recently found out the Rockshox super deluxe + rear shock that comes on the 9.8 has 0 tokens and one 5mm stroke reducer. It also comes stock with the progressive can, similar to the megneg on previous models. Has anyone tried removing the 5mm stroke reducer to increase travel without having...
It's a fairly known fact that the Trek Fuel eXE will have a tough time keeping up with full eBikes. If they go full power, the Fuel eXE will be left behind. To keep up with them when they are in med or low setting, the Trek TQ will need to be near or at max setting, which will deplete the...
I posted on the mega thread but posting here in case someone can answer....
I am getting ready to purchase a Fuel EXe and need some help here regarding the 9.8 version. Does the rear Rockshox Super Delux Select have similar internal spacers that can be removed like on the Fox Performance Float...
I am getting ready to order/purchase a Fuel EXe and need some help here regarding the 9.8 version. Does the rear Rockshox Super Delux Select have similar internal spacers that can be removed like on the Fox Performance Float X, to extend the travel to 62.5mm? And can the Rockshox Lyric Select...
