I'm thinking of a new (facelift) 540i estate, so will the bike fit in that with the handlebars turned, or will I still have to take the front wheel off? I won't be carrying anything else in the boot. If I've got to take the wheel off anyway, I may as well get a smaller estate.

I like what you’ve done with the cockpit cables. What plastic tube did you use?

Mount it on the stem. You can get the bracket for not a lot of money.

I do see a lot of Specialized bikes up for sale, which makes me wonder how good the really are, if owners are selling them so soon?

My LBS said they’d look at shortening some of the cables, to tidy everything up at the initial service, once everything has bedded in. It’s never bothered me that much on my current bike, but looking at how Focus route their cables makes you wonder why others don’t do the same.

That Rail 9 looks great. You did well to find one, as I called about a dozen shops, and none had stock!

I have no need to remove the battery regularly, as I’ve got power in my garage, so that won’t be an issue for me.(y)

Noted! I have got some special lube for forks, shocks and they recommend using it on the seat post though.

OK, that’s handy to know. I assume you grease the post regularly? Other than that, how pleased are you with the bike overall?

What issue have you had with the dropper post, OP? I’m waiting for my E160RS, and hoped that at this price point everything should be spot on??
