Really tempting. Love the coil feeling and has it on my current ride. Will give the X2 a try first before I swap. Maybe get something fancy like Formula MOD or Ohlins.
With 173cm you are 100% on a medium. 450mm reach is what most brands has as an medium and 170-175 is the length for medium size. You can size up and nothing is wrong with that. As long Large has a low stand over you are fine.
Megawatt has not been in stock for months and is using the Shimano maracas motor. But I agree that it doesn’t sound fantastic that ppl are having issues. Even if it’s 1 in 100. I plan not to touch the app until I really need to. Hopefully they have a more stable version then. I really hope Giant...
I hope that Rob will address that PPL reports bricking the bike just by using the app in the review. It may force Giant to do something ASAP or at least they might do a statement.
A few notes:
1. "Same" power mode on different brands say you nothing. It all about how much torque is allowed and how it's delivered.
2. Tires and Tyre pressure affects range a lot.
If you drain down to 10% in just 2h are ju running max boost almost all the time?
250watt/36v = 7A (nominel)...
On paper the bike has very low BB drop in the high setting. It’s only 15mm and most other bikes have 20-25mm. If you have an large size bike maybe swap to 155-160mm cranks. Maybe also increase LSC so you don’t sink so low in the travel when pedaling.
usually you never get ANY pedals. 125mm dropped is a fail for sure. But the specs say 150mm on E+1 medium size. Same for the stem. The E1 specs say 35mm.
why is the rear hub awful?
something weird is going on at giants website. I know for a fact that all models were on the Swedish site before but now it only has E+ 1. Lack of models on the website should not be an indicator that models are not sold in your region.
Hopefully someone at Giant is monitoring this thread. It's just one of biggest EMTB forums in the world talking about their latest toy.
If something is going to make ppl hesitate on buying it's funky electronics....
I’m skeptical to carbon cranks. Seeing them fail on pink bikes hug to flat made me not that keen anymore. That said the chans that they would break is very small. But the consequences could be large. Back again to it makes no sense on full fat emtb as the weight saving is minimal.
I would maybe...
Carbon on something like the Orbea Rise I totally get. I agree that carbon is not bad in any way but sometimes brands shoot them self in the foot by trying to make it to light. If you want reliability I would say go for Aluminium. In one of the MTB groups I'm in on FB has the last year had maybe...
Hehe. Just a quick rebuttal. LTT Linux desktop series on youtube pretty much sums up my Linux experience for the last 20 years :). I'm also an engineer but my main job EE and not software right now. Lets go back to the Bike! :)
Ride quality is what matters as you say. My use case is self...
Very interesting. Would be fun to know how much is down to the battery. I can't find any info what Yamaha has selected for cells in their battery packs. Bosch has according to mr google selected LG MJ1 cells and they are pretty top notch according to the datasheet.
