It’s not perfect in anyway. Just to make a more nuance picture if someone considers buying one.
1. BB is too low. Even with 155mm cranks I get more strikes than my other bike with 170mm.
2. This might be a full emtb problem but the bike do not carry speed. Bike will not accelerate unless it...
Some bikes are now on sale 1-1500 euro under release price and other has gone up 20-30% in a year.
Example Trek Fuel EXe base model is down 1500 euro in price and Gaint reign e+ is up 2000 euro.
well :). It is more heavy so you nere to run higher pressure and so reducing grip.
So if you are going to a bikepark with a lift. Would you take your emtb or analog enduro?
Might be the issue :). I actually starting leaving my emtb more and more in the garage and taking the analog bike instead. It’s just more fun.
I should maybe swap to a light emtb but they are so expensive. The entry level Trek EXE cost more then my E+1. Totally insane. Right now my plan is to...
Yes. Did braket setup in excel. It can plow thru anything but popping off small roots and rocks on the trail is hard. Might be down to the heavy weight.
Lower pressure yes. Going lower then 23 psi is risking a pinch flat. Running 25psi in the rear.
Not added an insert yet. Got one on the shelf. I do not think cush core will add a lot of feeling (except work as a volume reducer). something like PTN Pepi's Tire Noodle might change the ramp up...
It's the small things. Especially when you can compare between two bikes. My other bike has very complaint wheels and I do prefer it when going fast thru chunk. Anything not absorbed by the Tires/wheels/suspension is going to be noticed by the rider.
Well it depends a lot on your weight. A pair of wheels might feel stiff if your are 75kg and "perfect" if you are 95kg.
Giant need to make sure the wheels spec on a bike can handle the full max system weight of 150kg.
You do want some raidial compliance on a wheel and that is what I'm missing.
Not Happy with the Giant Reign E+ 1 stock Wheelset. Create a harsh ride and are to stiff for my tast.
any suggestions for a complaint wheel that’s sub 350 euro (rear) or 600/set?
I got to test the bike 2min at Järvsö bikepark yesterday. Met a trek employee that had the yellow version and he was nice enough to let me try it by the lift. Can confirm the motor is absolute silent. Got a giant reign e+1 myself .
I did like the auto mode when I was alone on a enduro track center. Auto on the climb was nice. Very zippy. I normally only use level 2 and level 3 when I select mode myself.
