If I am driving in the highest gear, particularly in acceleration phases, the chain jumps occasionally. Is this normal due to the high torque with motor support, or is it due to new material getting used to each other and will disappear with time?
The short travel way before the 'thump' is not completely free running, though, it feels. And this thump is not always there. Can't really say when I notice it and when I don't. But if this is familiar to you from other bikes...
I don't perfectly know how describe it, I am not a native speaker. Sometimes, but not always, when I step into the pedal, the motor does not start supporting smoothly, but it produces a short yerk or jolt, very non-subtle actually, before it gains traction. The "sometimes" is what worries me...
My charger was >20°C when I had to re-plug around 40 times (not kidding).
Derby stopped responding to my emails, btw., the kept directing me to the bike shop where I had my Jam2 being delivered.
Definitely. The underlying problem is that a lot of these 4.5 A chargers are partly broken.
I have the very same issue. Right from the start. And it was >20°C in my basement. Because outside it was ~30°C. Not a temperature issue, neither for the battery nor for the charger, as others have...
Guys, you saved my a**! Thank you so much. After 40+ re-plugs of the charger the darn thing would finally start to charge.
I am currently in direct contact with Derby to see what can be done, as I had ordered my bike online.
Of course I have cited this thread. :)
Hi everyone,
Came here because my new Focus Jam2 fully wouldn't charge. Found the solution here, the trickle charge below 25V battery coltage seems to be wonky. So relieved that my bike is ok. :)
Great to be here!
