If you won’t be riding the bike for a while remember to charge the battery only to 60%. The smart charger that comes with the bike can do this. Just press the long led button so it shows orange.

In which case you should definitely get it looked at by Giant. Aren't you near one? I use the Giant dealer for some issues I've had and they've been excellent (but of course all dealers will be different).
This is almost always a result of water ingress. Try removing the battery and cover and leaving it in a dry area for 24 hours and then refitting the battery and trying again.
