I enjoy riding on my own, it’s kind of a meditation for me. I’m just getting a bit worried should anything bad happen when I’m on my own. I’ve only ridden with a few friends on regular MTB’s and they have been fine with my e-bike.

I think it says on the app that it only affects the display speed, not the speed of the motor cut off. As you said, it’s just to match your display speed to your gps or bike computer.

I put a carbon riser bar on my Focus hardtail as I didn’t like the riding position with the original flat bars. I found them too wide so cut a couple of cm off each end. No regrets, and I haven’t really noticed any difference in the handling, but definitely more comfortable for me.

I have a cheap eBay work stand for my old MTB but it can’t support the weight of my e-bike, so I made one using stuff I had lying around. Admittedly not everyone will have an engine stand and storm drain pipe, though! And it takes up a bit of space.
