Yes, very difficult to find that sort of information. I can’t even find a price for a replacement charger. I was considering keeping one at work for when I commute, but I don’t need it as I have plenty of battery left.
Apparently you should get over 1000 charges before the battery starts to lose...
On the trails I have seen no reason to derestrict my bike. If I go over 25kmh it’s downhill and gravity helps. On my commute, I’d like to have the limit raised to 30kmh so that I get some assistance, not to go any faster. At the moment I cruise on the flat on our bike paths at around 28kph...
Sounds ideal, but I doubt it will happen; hasn’t happened with phones or computers.
Do you have the T.E.C pack for your Focus, that should help with range? I’m thinking of getting one.
I’ve just bought a new bike, so won’t be getting a new one. Unless I win the lottery, in which case a carbon Focus Sam2. And a new Ibis Ripmo.
And a BAC Mono.
Only when they get dirty. ;)
As for servicing, as my e-bike is brand new it gets a free first service. After that I can maintain it, unless it’s something I don’t have tools for, or competent skills. On my acoustic bike I’ve had the freewheel rebuilt several times by my bike shop as they know...
Sounds like an epic (E-pic?) ride!
Not wishing to enter a pssing contest, but we have the Munda Biddi Trail which is over 1000km (620 miles) long, so get your holidays planned! Apparently some nutter did it in 4 days on a regular mountain bike. Yep, 250km a day!
One day I’ll do it, have just...
I emailed Focus, and they say the price should be A$899.
Must have been a glitch. Shame we couldn’t have ordered from the website!
Update: Focus has emailed again to say there was a problem updating the Australian website and the wrong price was displayed.
I asked them to email me the price as I was going to be busy today. Of course, they called, and I wasn’t able to take the call, but instead of leaving a message with the price, they asked me to call them back. WTF.
Why don’t people listen????
I’ll try a different shop.
The Focus may have a smaller battery but that makes it lighter, and you can add the extra battery for over 750Wh of power. If you like hard tails, Focus have them too.
Might be worth asking your local shop. I’m in Perth, so maybe not much use to you, and which means if I want one it’s a 10 day wait while it’s trucked across the Nullarbor.
Also noticed that the Bold2 is now called the Jam2 HT
