I snap off the derailuer's if applying power in a high gear, sometimes chains], [110nm torque] , i just avoid the top gear and ride low to middle gears, thats enought to beat $15000 bikes:D
I v been using the Altus 7 speed because of the 7 speed chain being stronger, i snapped few of the 9 speed chains , and the 7 speed deraileurs are only $14 on ebay. All the breakages have been due to rocks, sticks and the nut behind the handlebar not putting the chain on properly after dropping...
I find all those adjustments unnecessary , i would set a bike[any bike] on full max power and full runout , and if you want to save the battery ,turn it off . I just work/ride around those perimeters .
Just fitted some secondhand rear brakes , the lever feels solid but needs to be pumped once to get braking happening[bled it 100 times , no air definitely ] , the thing is the caliper is a 4 pot and master cylinder is from a 2 pot system, so , is there differences with the 4 and 2...
Schrader valves didn't come into bicycles until the mid 1970s , it was a game changer as french valves were not liked[eg make and put car valves on bikes or else], but how and why french valves made a comeback is beyond me.:D
I have a 2.60 Mitas tyres that have similar cracking going on , and some areas look like someone has slashed with a knife. It was suggested that someone was too liberal with the release agent in the mould , making the surface weaker , but all the rubber is still there on the inside .[what ever...
We all know that the overrun is there to stop the jerkyness /to give the power delivery on each[in between] pedal push / stop the/on/off scenario , yes? so every ebike has overrun ,otherwise it would be unridable , but the distance can differ .
I was just looking down the seat post tube in the frame , [apparently all emtb motor fails are due to water ingress ] , i hope that hole does not allow water into the motor??[cant really see]as the tube gets a lot of spray from the rear wheel spray.
Unfortunately" bike discrimination" runs rife in the MTB/EMTB planet , just turn up on cheap China emtb and hear the comments from the Spezilisedgianttreketc brigade , if there was no ebikes ,other brands etc , we would poke fun at the colors of the bike .
