If you keep the Star ratchets clean and lubed (whenever they get noisy), you should be fine with the 36t ratchet. I’ve used the same 54t ratchets in 350 hubs for years including non-ebikes, a full power Levo (~3500 miles), and a Levo SL (~3000 miles). I like the quick engagement of 54t.

Never heard of an 18t ratchet failing like that. We’re the ratchets clean and dry as shown when you removed them? If so, someone forgot to lube them!

Yes, the stock axle pin (aka bushing) used in my Fox Float X was the same, 39.87mm. It's tight getting it in/out of my 9.7 frame indicating a good snug fit. No problems with rattling when torqued to 15-17 Nm. Maybe we need axle pins with "compensation screws" for frame variance :ROFLMAO:

@Emailsucks98 - mrs levity has been running 155mm e13 Helix cranks for a while. Fewer pedal strikes than with the stock 165mm, and they’ve remained tight when torqued to 30-32 Nm.

Agree with @JP-NZ . Thick rim strips reduce the depth of the inner channel making it more difficult to lever the bead over the opposite side of the wheel. You may have to replace the thick strips with a thinner rim tape.

What settings - Assist levels, Peak Powers, Acceleration- were you using in the Trek test? The TQ motor has roughly similar power to the Mahle motor in your Vado SL (I have both) though much less than the Brose motor in your Levo.

Many of us have not had an issue with this. I’ve had the shocks on and off my EXe and my wife’s EXe multiple times to tune or service. Check the torque on the upper and lower bolts. I use 15Nm on both, but many seem to require 17Nm to secure theirs.
