Real life logistics of riding using two batteries and one Emtb?

I love my second 504wh shimano battery! I usually just go for 2 loops whether it’s from home or my vehicle. I’m lucky that my area has more trails than I can ride with even 2 batteries. I have the Evoc backpack and tried it for an all day trail epic. Battery and backpack is 9lbs minimum. With...

    2020 - Meta Power

I does come with 170mm fork and 155mm rear travel(compared to 150/140mm) so I think there are tangible differences between the old and new. Plus you can mount a water bottle!

I was aware of ebike hate / jealousy but I thought opinions were changing

Someone said “cheater” as I passed him up a hill towing my buddy on his pedal mtb and I asked if he had a charger I could use as I was running low. I would offer to tow him too but it would cheat him of something. I have less patience for the haters too these days.

    2020 - Meta Power

Specs look great! I like the increase in travel and stiffer upgrades. The internal battery is supposed to lower the weight even more. Lack of bigger battery capacity is lacking tho. Shimano states new internal battery is 2.9kg vs 2.6kg for external. (Not including the extra stuff the...

Battery on meta power race starting to rattle

It’s easy to snug up the battery mount. I got motor errors when my battery connection was compromised with a slack battery mount. YouTube has a video and shimano instructions on line also show the top mount adjustment

Should I upgrade my forks travel ?

10mm is minor! It’s a no brainer if you think you will benefit from more travel. 20mm gets more significant. You can always lower your handlebar to bring more weight forward to compensate.

Suspension pressure for ebike different from std?

I have been using suspension pressures substantially higher than my regular bike. On a Lyrik fork as example I run 10-15psi higher. Hard to get pop on drops and jumps and control the hard slams in compressions and obstacles otherwise. My terrain is steep and chunky so I’m guessing it depends on...

Neoprene battery sleeves - cold weather range extenders or gimmick?

I agree thin neoprene proabably useless. I got this NC-17 cover which seems to work for my external e8000 shimano battery fine: is fairly thick and feels like it would have some insulation properties.

Neoprene battery sleeves - cold weather range extenders or gimmick?

I have been using a battery cover. On 0-10degree Celsius weather, I think on short trail and turbo nonstop rides until battery is exhausted, ie 1.5-2hr ride: there is little difference in range as the battery internal resistance creates enough heat to keep the pack at good operating...

2019 Commencal Meta Power on order :D

The handlebar felt weird and had to go! My favorite modification was changing to Lyrik to 160mm travel. So much so I wonder if I would like 170mm.

    Tyres!!

I don’t think you are wrong here. Sand over hard packed is not the MM forte. I did find making a half depth sipe on the intermediate knobs reduces the slides on moderate lean angles. In soft or wet conditions the MM is fantastic! In dry conditions just learn to lean it over further by pushing...

Meta Power 29er vs 27 - Opinions Please!

I’m looking forward to your report! What tire clearance are you concerned about? I run a 2.5” HR DD in the rear with lots of clearance. Commencal says there is enough room for a 2.8” 29er tire if they ever make one!

    New 2019 top suspension linkage.

My Rock Shox deluxe air shock doesn’t have any clearance to move forward with an offset bushing in the frame mount. Does yours?

    New 2019 top suspension linkage.

Hmmmm I think I may have found something related to the rocker link change. It refers to the regular pedal meta 4.2. Go to 8min :30seconds on this video

    New 2019 top suspension linkage.

Nice observation! Looks like the 29er still has same geometry but the shock linkage looks beefier. Perhaps to reduce rear end flex and shock body wear?

Oh no Mud on my motor!!! :)

I will report if there is mud clogging issues but mud here is not very sticky. I did let the air out of the shock to see bottom out clearance and my fender just lightly touches the seat tube at full compression in this position.
