I see... I just took the chain off the ring, and it does not rattle when you bounce the bike. There's still clunk when you really smack it. How do you guys lube the chain then, as spinning cranks backward does not move the chain? :unsure:

Holy sh*t! The buttons did it, I completely forgot that they added them (I have old 36 on other bike) - not sure how it is related (vacuum sucking it down?). Too bad I already ordered like $100 worth of Fox tools for servicing air spring :D Thanks @robat !

I figured... Sounds like air spring rebuild is next for me :| Downside of mail order bikes - can't take it back to the shop: "Here, fix it!"

I put OneUp 210mm - fits perfect, I'm probably same inseam as you. I just noticed that Fox 38 does not extend fully, even when unweighted - I can pull on lowers and extend it by about extra 10mm. Do you notice the same?, or it's just my fork...

I understand it's not like there's a loose ball bearing just bouncing around inside motor assembly :) But in real world, you feet will be on the pedals, constantly loading and unloading clutch mechanism, right?

Not Commencal, but a good example of EP8 rattle (scroll to 8 minute mark): With my bike it's about the same, I can make a quick video.

Motor cover wasn't installed on mine, it was separately in the box. Check it.

Now that you said it, I'm not sure - it might be motor rattle. It does come from battery/motor area, although that's where all the cables are too :) Might have to take the battery out and inspect. Also curious what other owners say.

Sorry, no video. But ECO is terrible, I tried it briefly (as it auto-switches to Eco when you get close to 0 remaining range) and I would rather ride my regular bike than e-bike in ECO mode. I'll try Trail mode when I have more time to ride.

Went for a shakedown ride today. First impressions: Motor: Was able to get around 18.5 miles with just over 4000 ft elevation, was in Boost all the time (last few hundred feet were in Eco as it was about auto shutoff). I expected a bit more, will try Trail mode next time. As for the noise: it's...

Yes, no problems - outer cable goes back and forth easily. I didn't need to remove old outer out of the frame though.

Yup, useless - I think they are more like plugs.
