I used a CCP-44 but the large end of the CWP-7 should work with the e13 cranks.

You might want to check the chainring if the motor mount bolts don't fix it. Check out the thread below. https://www.emtbforums.com/threads/near-new-trek-exe-with-loose-cranks-creaking.36488/

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Congratulations on the 9.5! You made a good choice because the 9.5 is 95% as good as any other EXe out there and more importantly, you stuck to your budget. Enjoy the ride! “Comparison is the thief of joy.” ― Theodore Roosevelt

Fuel EXe Fuel EXe TQ Motor Issue Poll

My wife and I have Fuel Exe and TQ-powered Scott gravel bikes. All are over a year old and have between 200-600 miles and we've only had one issue so far. The display button wouldn't power the bike on but function properly otherwise (plugging in a charger will turn the screen on). Trek...

Voile straps are a hit with the bikepacking crowd. Or maybe look at some of the handlebar bags/rolls for inspiration.

Great tip! I would have never thought to check the air chamber on the shock.

I know you solved this but for the creaking, I always check the crankarms and chainrings first. https://www.emtbforums.com/threads/near-new-trek-exe-with-loose-cranks-creaking.36488/

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

No issues on my 23 9.7 other than a loose crank and a speed sensor wire getting snagged in the rear wheel. Those are quality control issues that could have been avoided. The display on my wife's 23 9.5 failed. This is concerning but not a deal breaker. We also have TQ-powered Scott Solace...

Other I wish Trek made a gravel bike…

My wife and I ride Scott Solace Gravel eRide 20s. We love them. They roll well enough to log unassisted miles and we haven't had any issues (ironically, both EXes are down as I write this). The only thing that felt wrong about them was the lack of remotes for the TQ system. We fixed that by...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

The crank arms? They are ISIS and you need an ISIS crankarm puller to remove them. Something like the Park Tool CCP-44 will work. If you need to remove the chainring, you need an ISIS BB tool like the Park BBT-22. You also need the blue shield to protect the lockring seal from the BB...

Yes, the bike was upside down when I took the picture.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I rinsed the mud off of the bike and the cable was definitely pinched. I left the wire as pictured and took it the shop. They extracted the cable and it was damaged. Trek is covering the speed sensor.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

This happened to me yesterday. I lost assist and the "WRN 601 SPD SENS" message scrolled across the screen. A bit later I got assistance back for a few minutes before the error message popped up again. It appears the speed sensor cable is missing a zip tie and it is wedged between the...

Trek Fuel EXe 9.7 display problem

This happened to my wife's bike. I removed the battery for the winter and the power button no longer works after reinstalling the battery. It's fine if I plug the charger in to "wake" the screen. The battery was removed from my bike for the winter without issue. Edit: The screen was...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

My wife and I both got EXe's last year. Her bike is a 9.5 and mine is a 9.7. There is nothing wrong with the 9.5. It's completely functional but I think the 9.7 is a slightly better value (if you can afford it). The wheels and brakes are the biggest reasons. I've always ridden XT and XTR...

The creaking you described is probably from the front chainring.

    Fuel EXe TQ Feature Requests

What these riders are requesting isn't unreasonable. They aren't asking for more power or larger batteries. They want to achieve the bike's full potential with their diminished abilities. And maybe they did buy the bike that suits them. A more powerful bike with a larger battery might be...
