I had the exact same problem on my SX. A mobile bike mechanic came over and found that the mech hanger was not quite straight. He straightened it and now all is well. I, as you tried everything to no avail. He charged me 60 bucks but it was well worth it.
Yes, it's additional warranty for any parts that wear or fail from normal use during the period of the contract. It did not cover my derailleur when I got a branch stuck in it and destroyed it.

My original rear Nobby Nic (29x2.6) on my Rail 5 is wearing out and I'll soon need a replacement. I'm in So Cal and ride mostly dry loose over hard pack with some rocky sections. Not sure what tire to go with next. Any suggestions?
