Probably won't release until the new SRAM stuff drops, wired T-type derailleur for the lower spec models. I know at least one other bike waiting on that.....

In my opinion, there’s no chance that the presentation will have any connection to the new SRAM mechanical direct-mount derailleur. In fact, the models they’ll initially introduce will only be the premium ones ( S-Worsk, Pro, Expert), which will therefore be equipped with AXS groupsets, just like the current lineup. The new SRAM mechanical derailleur will be fitted on the lower-end models, which, in any case, will be introduced a few months later.

I don't care about power but I hope it's weigh is competitive with the amflow while having a removable battery.

Otherwise price wise it will be a hard sell to me.
For me, the bikes are not comparable at all. In my eyes the AMFLOW clearly plays in the all-mountain league. The tests consistently show this because the bike has stability deficits in the headset and rear end. I see the Levo more in the Enduro field, as evidenced by its use in the E-Enduro series. That's why I don't expect any weight records, but rather 22kg again...

Idk the current levo is the exact same class as the Amflow. Granted the Amflows stock kinematics or flex might not be suited for hard riding by heavy people. But the stock levo link blows through the travel too fast and has not enough travel for fast and rough tracks.

And the other bikes with the avinox system will be interesting. I wonder if the system provides a removable battery option.

Another Amflow lalala.
Levo not the same category bike as Amflow. And not supposed to be as light as something else there is Levo SL for that 🤷‍♂️

Well in terms of weight Levo SL is a king, but thats all. Some says it handles really well but at the end of the day not my cup of tea.
Just wish regular Levo wont shift into SL category. For me it has to remain full fat and full capable bike with big and removable battery.

I can only speak for the old SL, but it rides great. The difference to my 3kg lighter Stumpjumper is almost negligible.
But SL bikes with <85 / 90 Nm are only fun if you ride with bikes of equal strength, solo or extremely fit bikers. In a group with full-power e-bikes, it quickly becomes disillusioning... That's also the reason why I'm waiting for the Levo and won't be buying another SL...

Exactly my thoughts.

Amflow does nothing for me. IMO it’s a bike for people who don’t really understand biking.

steve from vorsprung already said everything there is to know about certain shock mounting decisions dji had on the amflow:

there is no excuse for the yoke + trunnion mount on the amflow, specialized at least uses a metric shock with the same stroke length

IMO it’s a bike for people who don’t really understand biking.

I'm going to stick this in with the title part "And assorted random chat ...."

You might have to quantify that some more ??

People who don't really understand biking ??

Amflow - for Nordic walkers, waterskiers, darts players, knitters, skydivers, origamists, gynaecologist (I'm making the giant presumptuous leap that as Dentists seem to be the default S-Works purchasers, then people who work downstairs don't do bikes). This excludes anyone who has cross over interests and only the ones who have never ridden a bike, never owned a bike and never will own or ride a bike.

If I'm to understand correctly, a bike with a new motor (more motors is a good thing) which is smaller, lighter, more powerful and has more torque than all the other main stream motors. Is faster at climbing than most of the other bikes which conform to the same power rules (one of the main reasons we have an EMTB is because we want to climb faster than on an MTB - for me anyway). A bike with nice handlebar controls and a nicely integrated display. A bike with good default support settings within it's modes. A bike which can give great range and altitude if ridden appropriately.

OK, it's not PERFECT - what bike is and it certainly won't be PERFECT for everyone - but again, what bike is. Lots of it's default specs aren't everyones cup of tea - but again - this is the same with many bikes and we change things - it's part of "biking" ..

Effectively, a bike which would probably suit 80-90% of riders here straight out of the box if they ignore their pre-conceptions ? But it's only for people who don't understand biking ??? Help me here !

The weird thing is that everyone who seems to sprout out their negative views on the bike are people who don't have one - Whereas the people who do have one all seem to love it. I'm yet to read of anyone who's said "sh1t, why did I buy this bike, I clearly don't understand biking, why didn't I buy a goldfish"

I think there is a specific limit for the Enduro Category and IMO only bikes with the next specs belong into the Enduro Category of bikes. 》》》

Angles
= or below:
Head Tube Angle 64°
= or above:
Actual Seat Tube Angle 73°
= or above
Effective Seat Tube Angle 77°

Travel
= or more:
Fork 170mm
Frame 160mm

But off course, that's only one and my opinion 🤷‍♂️✌️...
