Is this legit? How big of an improvement are these pads? I hate the Code R brakes. Been planning on swapping them but too lazy to route the saints. My issue for me is lack of power.

You have to try different pads first! Don’t fall for the ‘Hope is best’. Nothing beats Saints etc.

The contact materials are where the braking occurs. The mechanism merely has a different feel, from progressive to binary.

Can lock mine up instantly if needed, but I have an infinitely variable progressive feel - Code (and Guide) are not to be dismissed. There’s a very good reason they are fitted.

Few little changes to my base model to start. Hope evo4/light bicycles czrbon rear wheel(need to build a 29r rim onto my front hope hub), easton 32mm stem, renthal carbon bar , michelin rockr 2 tires. Still setting ot up. Seems quite playful so far. Also feels like a coil rear shock would work well. Need more time on it

The Yari has a very basic damper. I also changed mine with the charger damper 2.1 RC (~250 Euro). Completely different (=better) feel and as a plus you get HSC.

Also, I have serviced 2 Yari's now and in both cases the airspring side needed servicing. Forks felt very harsh. Even after removal of the 4 volume spacers. Found that the grease used got a little dry-ish (storage?) and blocked the eqalisation dimple!

Just upgraded the Yari on my Base to a Lyrik Ultimate. The Lyrik is so much better. The upgrade is worth every penny.
Better how? Cost? Interested ;-)

More support, better tracking, higher in travel. As plush on small bumps as Yari but big difference on more demanding trails. Not that Yari is that bad but the upgrade is well invested money.
I went with the complete red Lyrik Ultimate, though, because of a very good deal. Not perfectly color coordinated with the YT red but does not look bad either.

Guys do you remove the battery when washing your decoy? Or cover any part like the remote?

Sometimes. Depends how muddy it is. Often worth a quick rinse in water before removal as it’s designed to take it.

Plus washing the bike with the battery off means there’s a big hole full of cables and connectors that is mostly open to trouble.

So I tend to get water on to the whole bike to get most of the mud off, then take the battery off and that makes me gentler with the bike and battery wash!

My Decoy is mostly caked in mud after riding, it’s dripping muddy water from everywhere and the clean water on low power hosepipe spray sorts 75% of the wash for me. After that it’s a soapy sponge, detail, towel, compressed air and lube ??

(And then I wash the bike ?)

So what’s the best fix for the cable grommets falling out/rattling? My Pro Race is missing the grommet for the dropper post cable. Maybe it’s down inside the frame. Dunno if I should ask YT to send me a new one or if something else works better as a replacement?

Good question. Nice little detail yheyve done with them if somehow theyll stay put. Im twisting them in and having some success , to a degree, although some are working back out. Musy be a tech tip someone will come up with. Maybe lift the rubber edge a bit after theyre in place snd get dome kind of glue in there between the grommet and cable/brake housing? Idk, thats all ive got atm

How are people finding their Decoy’s?
Now people are having their bikes delivered I would love to hear a review from someone who has not been influenced in any way. Especially someone who has been riding non e-bikes aggressively for years.

Ed this Decoy is my first e-Bike. I rode a Capra CF Pro Race for three years beforehand, Trek Remedy, Marin FRS and many others over the last 3 decades - I’ve been riding crazily for 40 years.

I raced the Capra and threw it down the Alps off Scottish mountains and in all weather. That’s why I waited for the YT e-Bike. They just do bikes and service for the right price and well.

The Decoy has me utterly smitten.

It’s taken MTB onto a new level. I’m riding three times as much and harder than anything before. My 17 year old kids are loving my cast-off bikes ?

I don’t intend to convince anyone about getting an ebike. They are expensive and will break more than regular MTB’s for obvious reasons. But seriously, if anyone wants to change their opinions....they need to get one of these and go harder and further than they did before.

You’ll not see the Specialised levels of issues (I’m surprised they haven’t had people wanting their money back with the failure rate of their components).

You’ll struggle to hear about serious issues.

Look at the warranty now! Where are all the issues everyone who likes to kick the direct sales model predicted?

Service is fine, just roll with it. Remember what you paid!

And I promise you. You’ll end up writing messages like this on the forum ?

I’d sell mine today though, if I thought it would get someone else riding sooner, but I’d want what I paid 700 miles ago, and I’d order another tomorrow.

So here goes: Stealth Decoy Pro for sale XL. Perfect condition. Ridden hard for last 3 months. £4995. No offers. Might deliver if local to me in the UK.

I'm consistently top 20 on strava on the gnarly double black trails around my part of so cal. That makes me decent but I can't keep up with the really fast guys. I didn't love the decoy at first, it felt really heavy and dull. But it's my first ebike and after adapting my riding style I've learned to love it. It's not as fun to ride playfully as a regular enduro bike. It's just a lot harder to manual and bunny hop/stomp hard for pop off lips. But the weight gives it an incredible front wheel traction feeling that's pretty addicting. Mine is set up to plow with coils front and rear and downhill damper tunes. The bike can mob with the best of them and has no problem doing park sized drops and jumps. I think leaning into the bikes strengths and riding it in a racy DH style helps add to the fun. When I ride my enduro bike (mostly park and shuttle runs now) I change my riding style back to the playful - pop off everything and it's easy to adapt. The only trail features I don't like riding the bike on, but still manage to navigate, are super slow tech dh, like trials style, because it's just too much work to hold a manual and do rear wheel lifts.
