Yamaha's latest motor. Magnesium cased to get the weight down to 2.6 kg, losing 150g from the PW-X3. Maybe the lightest Full fat ?

Backwards compatible with the PW-X3 and PW-X2 : mounting, displays and batteries.

From what it looks like it’s very similar to the previous gen. I feel like if my motor ever lets go I’ll upgrade to this as a replacement. Otherwise I’m not sure it’s worth it.

It is marketing just like 50 teeth rear, 51, 52.
Some people focus on what is not important it becomes a selling point.
My cassette has more range,,, my motor is lighter ,,,, my Ebike has 12 speeds
just ways to justify asking for big $$$ but on a blind test most riders are
unable to pick what they sais was better/the best.
Selling dreams.

I like seeing this. Yamaha needs to stay committed to this market, and this update does that. All the other companies are doing what they can to lose weight because it does matter. Not just 150g weight savings, but a 45-pound full-power e-bike sounds perfect when you add it up. Maybe Yamaha got a sniff of what SRAM is coming out with.

I would love a 45 lb full power enduro ebike!
My '23 reign e+ weighs in at 59 lbs ret to ride with a filled small water bottle.
I have a ton of fun on it, but I do refer to it quite often as the Lumbering Beast.
