I'd pay for brake lights. The number of times I've run up the guy in front who's pulled up sharpish for no good reason.

It will undoubtedly happen, and it will suck, then be ok, then go through the years of arguments then we will all be saying, remember back when we had those crazy brakes we had to bleed all the time and cables that would rattle like crazy.

I remember getting hydraulic brakes back around 2000, and local mechanics all thought I was crazy and that it was so insanely dangerous and unnecessary. I remember when cars shifted to electric throttles and steering -- also insane and dangerous now they all come with it. Same as ABS.

I'd have thought the barriers are a bit high for manufacturers tastes. No doubt the technology is there & I'd bet there's a few prototypes around. Customer acceptance is a thing, liability issues another. I reckon if they did have a go at it, you'll see it on racers' bikes first, try & get it out there in people's minds that way.

Will the racers even try it if it weighs more?

The weight weenie thing is over in DH. XC not so much. Enduro bikes are such fat lumps anyway, I doubt they'd even notice.

I look at electric brakes like in my wife’s bmw and being able to customize based on terrain. ABS on/off or tight brakes sometimes and lots of modulation others. I think the dh racers would love that.

Unless he discovers/rips off an economic way of producing graphene, I’ll keep ridding my Rail.

Those concept bikes look hideous. 🤮
Real genius is often co-opted w/o credit by "the dumb genius" aristocracy...very "iconoclast", Elon-disruptintorish indeed!

A superior, force-multiplier of intellect, is the Tesla concept bike!🤟
