Kenevo SL Will they or can they up NM on the SL

Why is the kenevo SL only 35NM this is the only thing oh and the price that makes this not viable for me, if it was 60NM like the Orbea Rise then this would make it more appealing.

I cannot see it getting a power boost, not unless the motor gets a redesign, and then you'd need a bigger battery to maintain a decent range due to higher power output.
Thw SL provides assist and assist only, and that's what it's for.

Not likely Specialized can or will increase the torque since it would require a redesign and they already sell all the bikes they make. Don't be misled by torque numbers, Orbea's 65 n*m does not provide twice the power of SL 35 n*m. Riding tests show more power but by a small margin, maybe 15-20% as I recall.

If you're coming from a normal MTB, 35Nm is plenty and if you're coming from a full fat eeb the lower weight more than makes up for the power deficit.

haha yea true it is a Spesh, I ride normal MTB and wanted a second bike that was light with a motor that I can power round my local forest for those days where I need the extra assist, so the Kenevo SL fits the bill and the geometry.

It would need a motor redesign or a new motor. I suspect this will happen soon. I have no need for full power motors but a slight increase to the levels of the Rise...that would be welcome to have on tap.

I don't think the 35nm are the limiting factor here. Nm are only telling you how much Support you get from zero to xy (Max 20mph/25kmh in this case). The limiting factor for me is the Max 250w the Motor delivers - compared to the 560 or so on the FF. When you're riding uphill at constant speed the Nm are irrelevant. The more w you have, the easier it feels to ride..
I tested an Orbea Rise and didn't like it. The EP8 delivers it's Power totally different than the Mahle. I like higher cadences and the EP8 doesn't. More Nm will only let the Bike take off unnaturally quick. Or kick you out of sharp corners on the uphill.
Some more Watts would be nice though at times on very steep climbs.

Power = torque x rpm, in this case 35 n*m x 70 rpm = (about) 250 watts. For a FF 90 n*m x 60 rpm is about 560 W *but* the motor can only deliver that much power until the heat builds up. From what I can find the FF torque drops off quickly after 60 rpm but the SL does not drop off as quickly.
Don't know much about the EP8, detuning (actually reprogramming) a motor for less power makes little sense to me.
