What is the widest rear tire that will fit between the chain stays of this new bike? Hoping that my 27.5 x 2.8 Michelin E wild will fit.
My apologies if I am teaching grandma to suck eggs, but here goes...

Just because a tyre will fit between the seat and chain stays does not mean that it will be good for your bike. The frame flexes when cornering, especially when cornering hard. The wheel flexes too, as does the tyre. When static clearance is minimal and the bike is under load, the tyre can easily contact the frame, causing abrasion damage to the frame. Even if in good conditions there is no contact, remember that a muddy tyre can carry grit and small stones in the mud or in the tread, causing or further increasing the damage.

I would recommend doubling up on the frame protection tape in the areas where the tyre will contact the seat and chain stays. And keep an eye on it throughout your first hard ride until you build confidence that all will be well.

Best of luck. Let the thread know the results so that your fellow Amflow riders can benefit. :)
