Why no chainstay protector?

Hi just picked up my new Kenevo ? Why no chainstay protector? Is chain slap a non-issue?

I really like the chainstay protectors with fins found on the new Stumpjumpers.

the first levo I had 2016 HT had a short chain stay, and when I road fast over very rough ground the chain came off it was a problem. I see my new 2018 levo FSR has a longer chain stay and have never had chain come off over rough down hill. so I like them so ask your LBS why non fitted.

It's nowhere near as good as the factory fitted chainstay protector on my Demo 8, Enduro or Epic (all Specialized bikes) but my 2019 Kenevo Expert does have a soft rubber strip fitted to the top of the chainstay. It's got nothing on the bottom side. I'm expecting to get rowdy on this bike and even though SRAM derailleur clutches are pretty good at keeping the chain tight and away from the paintwork I'm going to, for a bit of extra protection, install a LizardSkin neoprene guard.

There is another thread on this - i think the Expert comes with one, and the comp doesn't for 2019. 3M Mastic Tape is your friend in this

I got one that I had to stick on myself in the box of bits with my 2019 Kenevo. Added a wrap around Lizard Skinz one for good measure
