Levo Gen 3 Why is the Levo remote designed so weird?

The ergonomics are just way worse than my shimano trigger which buttons I can assign so I can use it on either side. Why isn't this possibly which specialized? Who decided to waste a button on a useless turbo button that is not really reachable if you set it up to reach the plus and minus buttons comfortably?

Why is there an extra button for walk assist in the same weird place?

Only had my Levo but never noticed it was a problem. When I'm walking where the button is less of an issue because I won't be adjusting riding modes. Agree Turbo is a waste of space, only removes one click from proceedings.

I would happily remove it.
The old tcu with 10 blue bars allows a power change with the top specialized button.
The daft new tcu with the digital display has seemingly lost this functionality, so the remote has to stay.
I never use the turbo button or walk.
I do use it on different sides on each bike i own.
I do think its the best remote out there though, small and discreet.

I use the walk assist in alpine terrain extensively and although shimano solution isn't perfect its much more ergonomical. Idk if they have a patent on it but the walk assist feature as a whole is far from ideal on many systems.

Its also weird that the walk assist sometimes is really slow and then it speeds up.

Its the law. The TCU doesn't know in which Gear you are, so IT Starts with the fastest Gear with Low RPM so IT does Not exceed 6km/h (at least in Germany)
Then IT detects the real Speed and speeds Up If necessary...

That with the Mastermind Control Unit (MCU), they’re talking about the TCU.

I was thinking the same thing as you, “what is the turbo button?”

Ya, I have NO idea what a turbo button is. The L1 button cycles through the different screens and I have to use my index finger for that, which can be awkward. The +/- buttons function as they should and are ergonomically friendly.

The 1st thing i did on the ksl was remove all the other displays.
Battery, power mode plus clock, which i admit is a nice touch, is all i want.
The the other stuff, including microtune, not interested .
I wonder if i can replace the jazzy digital tcu with the original tcu.. . I gather most wish do to the opposite.

Mines is lose so if I was using walk I twist it round, as u say it's awkward position.

I know with shimano e8000 its even worse as its really slow so you have to shift down to get it fast enough and then up again to start riding in steep terrain. Specialized is better but sometimes it doesn't speed up for a few seconds and in other instances it is almost up to speed and a bit too fast. I like Bosch Gen4 the best so far but that basic remote is worse than shimano but a bit more ergonomical than specialized overall. Its clear that not mountainbiker designed it tho because its so big and exposed it will take damage.

Then why don’t you tighten it? Loosen the brake lever and roll it forward to get to the 2 mm bolt.

Bosch and TQ motor here.
In walk mode they both behave the same. 4km per hour for a few seconds then 6km per hour after that.

A few years ago, the walk mode was like a rocket, instant 6kmph. A future update changed that.

I believe that the computer sensed the speed through the magnets. The position of your chain, on the cogs, didn’t matter.

Then why don’t you tighten it? Loosen the brake lever and roll it forward to get to the 2 mm bolt.

Sorry I meant it is loose so I can turn it to the position I want it at .

I agree! the remote is odd on my Levo, its not the mastermind gen3, the turbo button is pointless for me and the walk button randomly goes from no power at all to throwing the bike up the hill in front of me
