Can't say that I've ever heard of any murders in Kielder Forest ..but there have been more than one or two suicides ..hopefully its something that none of us have to confront ..but it does enter my thinking at times especially on solo rides ..🙁

Going to Hamsterley either Saturday or Sunday, haven’t been for ages, looking forward to riding in the sunshine ☀️

BPW tomorrow

Went on Friday with a son, was very crowded and VERY hot and dusty. Only did Blue runs, they're challenging enough for me although by choice he's happiest on Red runs. Three runs and I was wrecked, mainly by the heat, although he did a 4th on his favourite Red.

One pleased 11 year old after his first trip on the Minotaur. I may be in trouble with his parents as he now wants a “proper” mountain bike. 😀 View attachment 92070

I guess you’ve possibly just provided that child with one of his most awesome life experiences ever. That Minotaur trail is an excellent introduction into mountain biking 👍🏻

Got an annual charity race fundraising event on Sunday. Starting to feel slightly nervous about the weather.

Looks like I picked the wrong weekend to fund raise for local hospices. I'm sweating just typing this out. Anyone wants to sponsor my sweaty cadaver, I'm all ears.

I done a route called nice view, started from Stanley Wakefield 26 mile loop found on komoot. It was Hard ride in the weather but really enjoyed, will most probably go out again today but no more than 5-10 miles.

Just done an early short ride on a local route with wife before the temperature gets silly - may get to 35C later today.

Only 12 miles with 700ft elevation. Some mellow single-track, and some chalk with embedded broken flint, not a good place to fall off - the flint can rip you like a jagged knife.

Edit: forgot to say, on the rough flinty downhill singletrack on the other side hit 33mph before my courage ran out.

Got my first eeb on Wednesday (Giant Reign E+1), rode at the Golfie (Caberston, Innerleithen) yesterday. The eeb handled it well although it's not as flickable or poppy as my conventional bike but the motor was definitely a welcome addition climbing back up to hit the next trail. Did NYNY, Dances with Wolves, Flat White, Big Baw and finished on Feed the Pony. Overall, a great day out. 😎
