Howdy all,

For reference I ride a 2018 Merida e160 800 with the following upgrades:

1. 29er Front
2. DT Swiss FR560 (Rear)
3. Hope Tech 3 V4 (front) and X2 (rear) - 203mm front and rear
4. A1+ C1 spring upgrade (180mm - up from 160)

I also tend to ride reasonably rocky terrain with frequent drops/ jumps to flat.

Might be worth clarifying which other modifications/changes you’ve already made to your bike then for others.
May have forgotten I actually had my insert installed. 🙃

But to better answer your question the full list of upgrades (doesn't include crash replacementa):
1. 29er Front
2. DT Swiss FR560 (Rear)
3. Hope Tech 3 V4 (front) and X2 (rear) - 203mm front and rear
4. A1+ C1 spring upgrade (180mm - up from 160)
5. ODI SDG Grips
6. Rimpact Pro (rear)
7. 1 XT crank arm - 165mm (only replacement I could get my hands on and no I'm not running different length cranks)
8. XTR FH-M9010-B rear hub (more of a replacement)

And that's it I think.

With your current setup, what are the limiting factors preventing you from riding faster, smoother, and having more fun?

The Smashpot might be a nice upgrade. Better brakes might be good. New/better tires can also make a world of difference.

The MoCo damper in the Yari is shite, get the Charger 2.1.

Those "shite" Yari dampers seem to work absolutely fine for a lot of folk who actually ride fast

And I bet they’d be faster with a Charger damper. What’s your point?

I'll get my new E-MBT (E-CELLS Super MonarchCrown) in January. It is HEAVY at 95 pounds but it has 2 motors and 2 batteries and Dual suspension. I have L4 and L5 disc problems so of thereat suspension os to stiff at softest setting I'll need a shock absorbing seat post as well.
