What should my new E160 come with?

What (if any) included bits or parts should I look for when I pick it up.

Bosch manual?
Whyte Manual?
Tubeless valves?
Some kind of bag?
Anything else?

I know Canyon ship with tools, bag and shock pump but my last Cube just came with one paper manual so I am not expecting much.
I just don't want to miss anything I should have.

Mine didn't come with much I think

1. supplementary manual for suspension/pivot maintenance.
2. Rochshox own manuals and some rockshox stickers/ plastic bottomless tokens
3. Bosch charger in box with no instructions.
4. The valve cores you need if you want to go tubeless and I think that was it.

all my other bikes came with really thick glossy manuals and I think specialised etc come with a nice bag for the charger.
Certainly didn't feel premium considering the bike cost me 5700+ and has an rrp of like 6300?

The charger/bike display will turn off when the battery is 100% charged with balanced cells. (the flow app will say the battery is 100% but let it do it's thing until the charger/display on the bike turns off as it takes up to an hour to balance all the cells)

The manual says you should do a full charge for the first time.
after that just charge to whatever you need, maybe let it fully charged to rebalance the cells once a year.
keeping the batter at 30-60% is the sweet spot is you worry about battery capacity over the batteries lifetime.


All the manuals are on the whyte website in PDF form anyway, and almost every bolt on the bike has the NM printed on it.

theres no values anywhere for the motor cover or motor guard.
after around 500 miles my bike started to make a creaking sound almost like the noise car dashboards make so I guessed it was probably something plastic..
I tightened the plastic cover on the motor and the bolts seemed really lose, no resistance at all when turning them, I tightened until I felt resistance at around 3nm and the noise stopped..

so if you get the same don't waste your time taking the bike to a shop, just check those bolts but don't over do it .


BTW the saddles a bum killer after 30minutes , I'd get a better one ASAP ergon do some really nice saddles, especially the £150 emtb one, (core pro?) I can sit on that for 4 hours and feel totally fine.

So, since my dealer will be setting up tubeless for me, my delivery checklist will be:

• Bike
• Bosch Charger and manual
• Rockshox manual(s?)
• Front & rear shock tokens
• Inner tubes that were removed
• Couple of plastic brake pad spacers - useful when transporting bike in car
• A proper receipt - my last Cube came with just a simple register receipt just showing the amount, so I have nothing on paper showing what bike/ serial I purchased!

Additionally, I will purchase the following bike-specific items:

• A hanger - since Whyte is saying I have to use theirs ( not a UDH)
• 11 speed chain quick link - since I don't have any old ones.

I do think that cheaping out on the deliverables is a poor business choice for any expensive bike.
A branded bag with basic tools and a printed manual (like Canyon do with the Spectral:On) may add perhaps £40 to the cost of the bike but way more than that to the perceived value and nobody will choose another bike based on a £40 price difference. Even if management freaks out at eating the cost, they could offer it as a buyer paid upsell ie. optional 'rider kit'.

Can’t remember what mine came with apart from the charger, everything else got thrown in the “shite drawer” along with similar stuff from other bikes I’ve bought.

My receipt has the frame number listed which is probably important for any warranty issues on the pivot bearings

Good but that is up to the bike shop to do so - which is why I added it to my list.
My last bike purchase receipt was a basic register receipt ( like one from Tesco) that just said 'Cube'.

What i will say with whyte is you get first class warranty support, when i snapped the derailleur and sheered the tiny screw holding the gear hanger, they collected from my lbs drilled it out, replaced hanger and sent it back for no charge. Have done over 5000miles on the e150, bearings were replaced under warranty with no arguing, so while they may not give you glossy manuals the after care and robust design more than make up for it

I wouldn't worry about manuals. There is an online manual for every nut, bolt and part on your bike. When I picked my bike up all I cared about was that it turned on, I had the charger and the serial number on the receipt. Went straight to the trails from the bike shop to enjoy it. You probably already have any tools, etc... that you need. 11 speed chain quick link just order on amazon you will have it before you get your bike. Hanger do you really need that right away? Just go get the bike and enjoy it.

I collected my new bike yesterday and received more than expected

Whyte now do supply a branded black zippered case holding the charger and three manuals, Generic Whyte bike manual, EMTB full suspension manual, and Bosch manual.
The dropper post has a tag on it with QR codes that link to manufacturer Tranzx.com
According to shop they have stopped supplying suspension tokens but I won't need any.
Bike came with fitted chain guide.

Went for first ride today and very happy!

Damn, I feel robbed...
My charger was in a proper bosch branded retail cardboard box. a bag and more than the suspension/pivot maintenance manuals would have been nice though.

I got no chain guide either but the bike never dropped a chain on me in 600+ miles

My dropper had the QR code it just shows you how to use the plastic insert thing so the dropper goes up less/more
