Unanswered What racks are you using?

I broke my bones II rack the first time I brought my bike home from the dealer. Anyone have good success with a hanging type rack, or do we need to do a tray rack?

We use a Kuat rack, sometimes with a 2-bike extension. Very sturdy. Recommend by Al Boneta who transports up to 4 ebikes on his. Pic below shows ours with 2 Levos and 2 Stumpjumpers.

Can you roof rack it ? The seasucker mount that I use has a 90 lbs limit and I’ve modded it to work perfectly.

It’s the dual bike rack I use.

I bought a Kuat NV 2.0 Base hitch rack
Very happy with it, clamps the wheels in trays so nothing scratching the bike frames. Handles our two 50lb EMTB’s well.

Fast and easy to load and unload, has built in cable locks for each bike. I like that I only need lift the bikes 18” or so to get them on the rack. Also folds up when not in use and folds away loaded with bikes so you can get in the hatch, or “boot” as you Brits say.

And it is probably one of the best looking racks too. I was going to buy one, but the shop said that they could not get the 1 up rack yet. I don't need a 2 up so I'll just continue with my build. thanks for the reply. Nice rack!

I would concur, I looked at Thule and Yakima and Hollywood. I needed a rack that would carry two EMTBs, be say to load and not scratch our new EMTBs.
I settled on the Kuat NV 2.0 base which requires a 2” hitch receiver.
The great thing about the Kuat is that I only have to lift the bikes about 18” off the ground to get the wheels into the trays, a hooked arm comes down over the front tire and I use the ratcheting strap to secure the rear tire, No contact with the frame. It folds up when not in use, folds down for access to the rear compartment (boot) of my SUV even with bikes on. It also come with a basic cable lock that pulls out from the KUAT frame. Very Happy with this rack in every way, very solid. See photo of our bikes loaded on the Kuat.

After doing a lot of research I have just bought a Thule Velospace XT2. This is specifically designed for ebikes and has longer rails and will take 60k. I tried it today with my Kenevo and it is easy to load and looks very secure. Thule have a good reputation so I think this would be a good solution for you
